Can we have a thread for Arizonafags? I had a few questions about gun ownership here, and a general discussion thread would be cool.

I'm about to be a new gun owner and from my research I'm pretty sure I don't need any kind of permits to have a gun right? I'm 25 years old so I'm above the age requirements for both OC and CC. I checked the NRA website for state by state laws and as far as I could tell I didn't need anything unless I was going to take my gun out of state (in which case it falls under the jurisdiction of the state I enter, correct?)

Also, where do I go if I want to shoot inna-desert?

Correct

Correct

>Also, where do I go if I want to shoot inna-desert?
Easiest bet is to find BLM land near you but anywhere far enough to not be heard is usually fine.

Stay of the Indian Reservations unless you want to end up killing a res cop.
>>
You live in possibly the best state for gun laws. You don't need a permit, you just have to be able to pass a background check if you want a gun from a gun store. Private sales just require you to both be residents of the same state. Go to a gun store where you can try lots of guns out. Find one you like, buy it and a shit ton of ammo and practice practice practice

>Go to a gun store where you can try lots of guns out.
I'm actually about to put in an order for an M&P sport to be sent to a local gun store, but before I do, do you know of any in the Phoenix area that might price match an online price (or at least price match + the FFL fee) ? if I can get it today I'd be extra happy. I'm not sure if that's really a thing among gun stores though.

>>33083331
>Easiest bet is to find BLM land near you but anywhere far enough to not be heard is usually fine.

Yeah I saw the BLM website says it's cool as long as I practice the right safety procedures (have a berm, etc) but I was wondering if anyone was aware of any spots specifically near Phoenix
>>
>>33083478
Literally drive in any direction out of Phoenix and you'll find somewhere. What do you want a map with a circle on it?
>>
>>33083513
lol i didn't realize that most of it was BLM. I've only been living here for about a year. Thanks.
>>
It's a crime to carry in a business that displays pic related. The law only applies to businesses that serve alcohol and a couple other types of places. The wording on the sign must be exactly as prescribed. "No weapons" signs in other types of businesses have no legal weight. If they notice you're carrying, they can ask you to leave. If you don't, then it becomes misdemeanor trespass.
>>
>>33083286
Arizona is lenient AF with gun laws. You need nothing but a driver's license to purchase guns. Also, as far as I know, you just have to be 1 mile away from a municipality to shoot inna-desert. I go to private property to shoot so I can't tell you for sure.
>>
Hunting regs say you have to be 1/4 mile from any occupied structure. The definition of occupied structure is a little broader than you might think. Worth looking up.
>>
>>33083725
I just avoid structures period. It's not difficult to find spots in AZ its a nonissue
>>
Fellow AZfag here
What's the word on Sasco?
>>
>>33083725
Hunting regs don't cover recreational shooting though.

For example, you can't legally hunt off your back porch if you live in BFE Nowhere (not that it's enforced, but still). But you can plink off your back porch just fine.

Phoenix proper sucks ass worse than Tucson proper(I hate big cities) but the outlying areas like Gilbert, Mesa, Buckeye for Phx and Oro Valley, Vail, Sahuarita and south of Marana for Tus are nice.

If you're in Phoenix and you don't shoot at Ben Avery you're a fucking nigger, and you don't deserve to bitch.

It's one of the nicest, most versatile shooting facilities in the country and it's super laid back as far as most ranges go (besides some minor governmental punctilio).

I'm from Tucson, lived in Flagstaff as well. All three are great for shooting, in different ways.

Jim and Kara are good folks who try more often than not in trying to be fair where if they don't know will make a honest effort to find out. One thing though is to keep in mind as an old boss of mine use to say, "Sierra Vista is where old people go to die...like an elephant graveyard." So Apocalypse Arms has a tendacy to have a few fudd firearms, AR's/AK/etc. and in the last couple of months have had an odd selection of:

An unfired Sig 556 rifle, a early 1900's Luger that had Third Reich Markings, a second unfired Luger from the same period no Reich Markings, unfired D-day landing commemorating Garand, Ruger Precision Rifle, Norinco Trench Gun with bayonet plus 922R(?) markings and a few other pistols from inter world war period. So what they have will be a bit all over the place depending on who died that week.

Yep, Thats's a desert alright. Would need to feed the soil with shit and/or dead animals in order to grow anything that doesn't have prickles. At least the climate would preserve stored goods well enough? Here in the jungle you have to slather everything in oil to keep it from rusting.

And yea, it doesn't really get above 100° all too often and the lowest I've seen in the year and a half I've been here is 3°. I am planning to move to Tucson/phoenix for a trade school and some extended family live there. I come from SoCal, and have voted red my whole life and hate liberals with a passion... Will the liberals win there too? How long until it falls, if it does. One conservative voting, gun and freedom loving CAfag transplant can only do so much when the liberal transplants outnumber us.

Anything south of Speedway in tucson is a shithole and should not be ventured into unarmed, or a leftist infested shithole. Hot college qts in both places, ASU in PHX is known as the party school though and PHX in general is extremly based as far as cities go. That being said, I love Marana. Blonde qts and mormons everywhere and lots of places to go innadesert
