I scored a 97 on my ASVAB and my recruiter told me I could do pretty much anything I wanted jobeuse but before I chose, he wanted me to take a new survey they have. My top 5 jobs listed were all ATC or ATC related except for some program that has another test that comes later. I can provide proof if you need it.

Some tips for MEPS though. Don't know how many you've heard already.

My recruiter said in the MEPS batch before mine he had to pick up a kid who got DQ'd simply because he put one metric fuckload of syrup on his breakfast waffles and his glucose tests went straight to the diabeetus part of the chart. And at this time they were in budget cut mode and weren't in the mood to re-test him.

The main reason sleep is essential aside from surviving such a long day is that right off the bat you'll do an eye test and if you're half-asleep your vision won't be focused. That means a lower score.

Also over the course of the day you'll have testers asking you casual small talk questions. Like why you want to join, any hobbies, etc.

1N1A since 2009 here. Just go into basic expecting to be yelled at (nothing personal, just do 1000 yard stare). Make sure you can do at least 45 push-ups/sit-ups per minute and 1.5 miles in 12 mins. Room to improve but doesn't highlight you as a troublemaker. Field training is cool but easy compared to other branches and range day is easy if you know how to shoot. Fuck it, have fun and save a few bucks. I've been to Spain, Germany, Japan, Italy, Afghanistan, Qatar, and Kuwait. Worse choices out there. Good luck, anon.

Have fun at Kessler AFB, Mississippi, that's where the ATC school is at. That place is fuckin hell. There's a golf course on base and a casino right off base. The beach is literally right off base but the water is disgusting from hurricane Katrina and because you're at the ass end of the Mississippi River. If you like the beach go to Panama city or Pensacola. There's also New Orleans an hour away just be careful with random shootings at Bourbon St. And hurricane season over there is fuckin awful. Do as your told in basic. The hardest thing for me was staying awake. Air Force PT is a fuckin joke. Pic related it's me at reception.
