Eurofag here, so in a couple of months I'll be moving to SF for a job, never had a gun before and thinking of getting some heat for protection. How's California's gun laws for H1B's also I'm looking for a cheap reliable piece, any advice? Thanks in advance.

You dodged a bullet with housing. My brother was lucky to be paying over 2000/mo for a single bedroom. It was a rent controlled building 15 minutes from Cupertino.
