Honestly, I have bought into the "tanto is a meme" meme. Because, it's weebish, and even if it does make the tip a bit stronger, I do not need a strong stabbing blade in a pocket knife. That's not in line with what you use a pocket knife for 99% of the time

I assure you it does not. Strength is a function of material and thickness. The tanto point just makes the tip blockier, not thicker.
