Am I shit at shooting? 25 yards using a .22 bolt action. Cci standard velocity. Using a 3-9 power scope that zeroed poorly using a bipod.
>>33052030
Yes.
Pic related is 100 yards with a 1-6x on an AR.

Learn how to properly load a bipod.
Shoot more.
Practice trigger and breathing control.
Out of curiosity, which rifle? CCI standard velocity is very very accurate for not technically being match ammo (outshoots a lot of "match" .22 from places like Aguila and CI). I'm 99.9% positive that one flyer is your fault and not the ammo.
How frequently do you clean it? I've found rimfire rifles take a while to settle back in to their normal accuracy after cleaning. My "match" .22 (a 10/22 with a Hart barrel) takes around a hundred rounds after cleaning before it settles back down, as such I rarely ever clean the fucker.

Load the bipod?
I've gone shooting 3 times this week... about 3 hours each time. 200+ rounds each session. I am a beginner which is why I made the post.
I try to be very careful with the trigger squeeze. What's the correct breathing technique? I've tried both holding a breath and exhaling before I shoot.
Savage mark II F. Using a simmons .22 mag scope.
I've cleaned it once after the first session.

I did look for a book yesterday but had no luck at my local store.

Keep it up, it takes years to get to what most would consider "good". I've been shooting for about 25 years, 17 of which competitively, and I'm still improving.
There are several good breathing techniques, and it's kind of position dependent. I like to shoot on a partial exhale (in, out, in, halfway out, hold, shoot) from any position but prone, and shoot on a full exhale from prone.
One of the best ways to practice trigger control is to shoot off front and rear bag sets. That way any inaccuracy is SOLELY due to trigger squeeze as the rifle is fully supported by an inanimate object. Bipod plus rear bag works too if you have a decent bipod (not Caldwell/UTG/chinkshit-amazon-special). The groups I posted were shot off a 2-bag setup.
That rifle is very definitely capable of better. That scope sucks but serves for your purpose.
Pic related isn't the best group I've ever shot with this rifle but one I'm quite proud of due to the wind conditions. And yeah it's a full-blown benchrest rifle, although on the lighter side since I compete in Varminter class.

I really need to invest in some sandbags when I have some extra money. Right now I'm spending my shooting budget on ammo and I just bought a cleaning rod kit. I'll try that breathing tip and read up on the bipod loading.

>invest
>sandbags
dude just get two bags and a shovel
>shooting at 25yds
Fucking why. You shouldn't be trying to hit anything closer than 100 unless you're doing some kind of firearms drill type of thing.
I can't think of anything more scrub than people at the 25yd lane or, worse yet, the fucking FIFTEEN
>>33055128
>inb4 hurrrr I'm a beginner
Even if you are an absolute beginner you should be driving nails at 25yds with a rifle. Get rid of the scope at that range too for fuck's sake. Christ, I've seen 8-year-olds better than this.
>>33052030
the diameter of a quarter is ~1 inch so at 25 yards thats a bit over 4 MOA, which isnt horrible for a beginner, despite what people on /k/ will tell you. keep practicing.
>>33052044
>handloaded SMKs in a custom AR
>$5 per box CCI SV in a cheap production rifle
one of these things are not like the other.
I also call bullshit on you shooting that with 6x. not that it isn't possible to shoot groups of that size at 100 with a 6x, but that target is shit at 100 with only 6x. those boxes are hard as fuck to see.
>>33055128
>You shouldn't be trying to hit anything closer than 100
>.22lr
most 22.lr competitions are shot at 50 yards.
>>33055705
A lot of underage nogunz on here...
>>33055090
That would be a pretty large bag if you need to fit the a shovel into it.
>>33055593
If there's one thing I've learned not to trust, it's people's groupings over the internet.
Everybody claims to be a master.
>>33055506
THIS
fun fact, most people on /k/ don't own guns. Of those who do, maybe 10% actually knows how to shoot. For noob shooting you're doing just fine, but you should be able to do groups like that at the same distance without a scope. Keep practicing, maybe pay someone for some formal instruction (do your homework before handing over money) and enjoy.
>all these people talking shit about OP's aim
>no one posts their groupings
>>33052030
Thats really not that bad...besides that flyer at the bottom. CCI is fine for plinking, if you want to be shooting all your bullets into the same hole I would recommend getting some match grade .22, like wolf, eley, etc...it will tighten up your groups noticeable. I would also recommend re zeroing your scope if you think it is off.
>>33055128
I shoot my .22 rifle at 25 and 50 yrds all the time...and like it was said, most .22 competitions take place at 50.
>>33058082
bump
>>33052030
it looks like your flier was vertical, indicating it was more likely to be the ammo being the problem.
