So I'm gonna shoot one of these cuties tomorrow, any tips to shoot properly? Even though I'm probably gonna shoot all the shots as fast as I can

Inhale the gun smoke as much as possible. It makes one's dick harder, longer, and terrifying to lesbians
Put the things in the thing and thing a thing until thing and the thing doesn't thing
>>33051696
If you're not going to fire an MG42 after eating some schokakola, you're doing it wrong.
>>33051696
If you're firing it using the bipod, which I assume you are, take your left hand and grab the little nub on the bottom of the stock and use that to pull it into your shoulder. When firing longer bursts be sure to push into it or it's going to start walking backwards on you and that's rather terrifying.
>>33051834
I should also add, if you want to switch targets, do it in between bursts, not during.
>>33051859
>bursts
Its probably the only time I'll shoot this thing in my life, there won't be any burst anon
>>33051834
Does it have too much recoil?
>>33051886
In that case just hold on for dear life and slowly walk your fire left to right and try and sweep all available targets. Sights will be more or less unusable during this so just watch for impacts and use your best judgement. Don't rush yourself or you may throw yourself off balance and lose control.

It's a big gun
>>33051917
I've only had the opportunity to use a M249 at a range in Vegas but I'm assuming the same principles apply. Keep in mind that 8mm Mauser is a much stouter cartridge than 5.56 being fired significantly faster so caution is advised.

That I will, I've never fired a 7.62 before, only 5.56

serviceman spotted, which country?

c-clamp your grip around the barrel to keep shooting tight groups
>>33052265
Chile
it isn't like in US where you can buy guns in Walmart, the bigger we can buy legally is a 9mm
>>33052293
Spoilers don't work here huh?
>>33052293
we can't buy guns all that easily either, though technically if you file the right paperwork & manage to make the local police chief like you enough to allow it you can get permits for pretty much anything (the law even mentions rocket launcher systems as an example of the weapons in "especially dangerous" -class that you can *theoretically* get permits for, so far there are maybe three legally owned RPGs and a couple cannons)
>>33052377
That's way more than here though, you'll have some nasty time if someone finds you with a .45
Most important thing for keeping your groups tight is body position.
>Squeeze pectorals (not shoulders)
>Vice grip the pistol grip and the stock
>Squeeze ass cheeks
>tense core
>Dig your toes into the ground as if you where trying to push against the gun
The imaginary straight line is important too, consider keeping your legs together as if you where standing to attention. Get a buddy to check that you are inline with the gun.

This looks good, I've heard 7.62 hits way harder than 5.56, but that's cool, this is why I joined the army
>>33052624
Yeah I've only trained on the 5.56 Minimi. 8MM mauser will definitely hit harder. That said my Mauser feels like less of a kick than me 223 so who knows.
>>33052305
you need to space it out more
>>33051696
full auto fun bursts should be about as long as it takes to say "die commie cunts"
>>33052526
I never realised that with 7.62 NATO/similar this might be necessary, then again I have only ever operated a 7.62x39mm machinegun (belt-fed one so it *was* an actual machinegun, not just "legally a machinegun"), always shot the same as with an assault rifle: supporting arm -side leg a bit to the side & dominant hand -side leg bent so that my bent knee is around the level of my waistline, never had problems hitting my targets (usually 3 round bursts at two falling targets side-by-side with few inches between them, 8 times out of 10 both targets fell),
>>33052677
just a clarification: OP is probably talking about an MG3 rather than MG42, and as such it's 7.62x51mm NATO instead of 7.92x57mm
>>33052900
Fair point
>>33052771
I get horrible groups around 250mm if I don't hold the position I described before. That said I shoot a rifle the way you describe and usually achieve 60mm groups at 100m no problem.
>>33051696
Scream MOTHERFUCKER everytime you fire a burst
>>33051696
While shooting prone scoot forward into the bipod and push forward with your toes.
