Can we have a Sig Sauer thread without accusing others of being poorfags?
Now that sigs are the official pistol of the US Army I think we can put to rest the argument on which pistol brand is the best. I can damn well say that DARPA has a better team to research which handgun is better than any internet detectives.
>>33048534
They're not even that expensive
Do faggots really get on a high horse about owning one?
>>33048663
The US Army should've adopted Makarovs desu
>>33048534
>tfw too poor to own a 226
>tfw you own the poor mans sig
at least its not in .40
>>33048680
>Makarovs
HA! Get that shit out of here.
Everyone knows the Mauser 1910 is far superior and the military screwed the pooch by not adopting it.
>>33048534
>Can we have a Sig Sauer thread without accusing others of being poorfags?
no
>>33048708
>>33048680
>Makarov
Now that's a meme I haven't seen in a long while.
>>33048663
the very fact that before the M9 was the US Army service pistol proofs that this title has no meaning whatsoever. the M9 is a pos and so is the safety P320. Glock>Alle.
>>33048738
>poorfag detected
>>33048680
This, they'd still be working today
>>33048738
>>33048534
No. That's why we don't do dig threads
>tfw you have a love hate relationship with your 226 because you don't really have a need for it but don't want to sell it because it was the first handgun you ever bought
>>33048732
sauce on the weebum?
P226 or P229?
>9mm
>oc and possibly winter cc
>legion vs other versions
>currently only have a glockerspaniel 26
>>33049334
what's the 'hate'?
>>33048534
P226 is the best pistol i've ever had.
The last one i would ever part with.
>>33049382
Seconded. Sauce demanded
>>33049418
The P229 would be the better choice if you want something that could possibly be used for conceal carry. The 229 is just as shootable as the 226.
>>33049438
I don't like the maintenance on it and the fact that it's a non railed version. If I could find a holster for it, I suppose I could use it for competition.
Just absolutely do not have a use for it short of having a soft shooting fullsize 9mm I can let new shooters try out for the first time.
>>33049468
Good point about no rail.
The only thing i would add to the good old p226 if i could, is a rail fo a light/laser combo
>>33049334
>>33049468
It wasn't the first handgun I bought, but I have the same relationship with my P226 Legion. I really don't have any need for it and my desire for a full sized 9mm has vanished. I just find it hard to part with because it really is so nice, but it pretty much just stays locked up and doesn't get used much.
Just bought this for conceal carry. What am I in for?
>>33048534
2022 is best sig
>>33049493
This >>33049468 is actually my P226.
Painstakingly looked around for a Surefire P226 rail adapter to put an X300 on. Finally found one, didn't work out as well as I thought because the controls on the light stick out further than a light on a gun that already has a rail.
If I could do it all over again, I would not buy a German P226 and go for an early 00' stainless one. But my wanting for a Sig has vanished and I'm into other guns now.
>>33048534
Best handgun right here
k
>>33048534
Bought a P226 SAO Legion. Love taking it to the range. Debating between a P229 or P320 for CCW. That grayguns flat trigger looks nice and I've read good things about it. Only thing is the 3.5lb pull (w/ graygun trigger) seems pretty risky for CCW.
Memes aside my 229 legion is my favorite handgun. I carry my 938 equinox everywhere I go. The 226 SAO legion makes me hard too
Bonus kitty
>>33048663
Just because big army awarded sig p320 the contract doesn't mean SOCCOM won't ditch glock anytime soon.
Why do Sig striker fired guns look like a T-Rex with an overbite? Is it the super terrible bore axis, or excessive piccatiny rail system?
>>33048877
Why do you say that?
>>33048663
>Army did not take Glock 17/19
They fucked up.
Should have adopted CZ75 Single action
>>33051658
Socom has majority of groups running glock 19. I'd say someone will have a job at sig when they retire from the army.
>>33048679
>They're not even that expensive
Considering that they're often a few hundred dollars more than other hand guns, yeah, they're relatively expensive.
>>33048738
>glock
Glocks are pistols for people who don't like pistols.
I do love my Sigs. Got lucky and found my mom a Sig P230SL for like $300 in pristine condition (which is rare the SL finish scratches super easy). Almost picked up a P232SL but it was $140 more than the Glock 32C I chose (which already broke budget).
Purchased my first gun in the last month, 1989 W. German P226, all matching serials, for $450. Currently waiting on my LGS to call the PA State Police and make sure everything is g2g and let me take my MPX-C home. Pissed as all hell that they feel the need, but at the same time excited to bring her home soon.
>>33051658
>Army did not take Glock 17/19
they already have grenades
>>33051658
Glock is garbage without after market triggers and ejectors, and limp wristing is not a real thing with 90% of firearms, you cannot do it. Why use a gun weaker than a baby's wrists?
>>33048692
Lel, SP2022 in .40 is my EDC. Wouldn't trade it for the world, unless someone wanted to trade me for the 9. To this day no one has been able to give me a reason why I'd be better off with the 226 and I'm saving ounces so...
>>33049530
It is though. Same trigger, same everything except less weight.
>>33049521
a smooth shooting and reliable guns with like 10 parts total so nothing to fuck up
>>33052055
No, other pistols are for safes and range days. Glock is for carry.
>>33049521
At least carry a spare mag.
>>33048534
That all depends. Are the poorfags going to stay out?
>>33052350
229 has a noticeably better trigger and a smoother decocker. Also prettier if you care about stupid shit like that for a catty gun.
2022 is good to go tho
> Be me in Michigan
> 60 degrees in February

> it's super shitty
Trigger is literally worse than stock M&P, long and gritty. Breaks like putting a dent in a half full pop can. Waiting for reset, wait for it, waaaait for it......
Wait for it? *tink* finally.
My god what a lump of shit. Doesn't deserve to be called a sig. Put 50 rounds on paper and turned it in early. Finished with my 229 which can't be made by the same people, because it isn't. It's just a name, not a brand, they flushed that cachet long ago.
Own a P226
>Dont have a job
what does this make me
this gun is literally worth more than my car

>>33052456
The 320 doesn't hold a candle to even a Glock. This is not easy to admit. The 320 is clunky as fuck in size and shape.
>>33052538
>like Glockwork
Ayyyy....
Any Sig bros who have converted a DAO? I got this police surplus and wondering if I should go to the trouble and expense.
I'm sure the P320 is very competitive in today's market, and of course the US military is adopting it.. SP 2022 is a fantastic duty or self-defense weapon on a budget. However, I just can't defend the price of a P22x pistol when guns like alloy CZs exist for 60-70% the price. I've had QC issues with a Sig, they exist, Sig Sauer is nothing to be put on a pedestal.
Now, if spending a grand isn't a super big deal for you, might as well go for a Sig if that's what you want. It's really a shame IMO that there's not more competition in the aluminum alloy frame market, since it's way better than polymer or steel
>>33048534
I honestly don't think SIG's are worth those 1K price tags.
my brother has a new 229, and it's not that nice.
It's not bad by any means, but definitely not worth 1K
Ergos are kinda Meh
And you can't get a super grip angle on it.
>>33048534
I'm ready to be BTFO... idgaf, love my 2022
>>33052327
If you can't shoot with a Glock's stock trigger you simple have shit fundamentals. Outside of a VP70s trigger, blaming the trigger (especially on a defence weapon) is just sad.
320 vs 2022 here. Can't make up my mind
>>33053940
do you want DA/SA? I like my 2022 a lot.
>>33053273
best sig imo. need to get one.
>>33053640
this. glocks are super accurate.
>>33053940
go with 2022
>>33053940
I would recommend the SP2022, purely on the grounds that I am a shameless DA/SA fanboi.
Picked up my first gun yesterday. Did I do good, /k/?
I have one. I should have bought a Glock 19.
>>33048534
Police trade-in 226. couldn't tell if it had been fired. Like 450 with 2 mags.
Trigger is tits, seriously. My favorite pistol to put holes in paper.
No 1911s? Lets fix that.
>>33053640
This, the stock glock trigger is pretty good. It's not a target trigger, but it really doesn't need to be.
>>33052456
Reset makes literally no difference in practical shooting, actually, it makes no difference at all.
This is how you can spot people new to guns that think they know it all.
>>33048534
So, I'm building a 229 off a parts kit...
Should I go with railed frame or a non-rail, like the P229R and M11-A1 respectively? Aesthetics matter to me and all the lights I've found stick past the muzzle and look fucking ugly.
Are there any other DA/SA guns worth having? Serious question, because I want one to carry.
>>33057132
Any HK DA/SA is great, Daewoos are cool if you can find one, or did you just mean Sig?
>>33057132

>>33052471
>yet
Yeah I don't think that's ever leaving nippon.
>>33053640
I wouldn't say it's a great trigger Glocks come with, but it doesn't hurt to upgrade it. I can ragged hole with Glock too, but I'd rather have a metal trigger on it. Just a personal preference thing.
>>33052580
>Sig proprietary rail
D R O P P E D
but nice anchormeme
>>33058306
I think the rounded rail looks better than the flat mk25 rail. I wish it did not have any tho.
>>33058819
I disagree that the rounded rail looks better, but I do agree that they look better without rails.
Why is everyone hating on the p320? I just bought a p320 compact for my first handgun after going to the range and shooting both that and a g19. The sig was a lot more comfy and I shot it better than the Glock. Are you guys gay fags or something?
