Kinda hard to fire when your turrets have holes all in them because you parked a ship in one of the narrowest sea choke pokes on earth.

The "biggest" claim people can say right now about how tuff battleships were are only valid against current Anti-Ship Missiles. This same claim means fuck all to ANY current Anti-Tank or structure missile.

Hell cluster bombs (Rockeye MkII) can penetrate the top of the turrets and a Mk84 (2,000lb JDAM) can penetrate everything but the conning tower itself from above while a GBU-28 can penetrate ANY location and keep trucking. This doesn't even touch the paveways or the bit where your now realistically in an envelope of attack for land based artillery depending on where it's parked.

Then with it parked in such a retarded and well spotted/announced position, it also loses the benefit of having proper Air Cover as the surrounding lands have well known SAM emplacements fucking EVERYWHERE.

I've seen many "proposals" for a modern battleship by wannabe admirals on other websites and I always come away impressed by the lengths they go to trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. WW2 proved the dominance of naval aviation several thousand times over. Battleships became relegated to being glorified shore-bombardment platforms.
