Honestly I really like the aesthetics of the Cryptic BCGs more than anything. While I don't shoot suppressed it is my competition gun and gets a bit dirty and even oiled my current Phosphate BCG feels like sand. That's partially due to the buffer as well.

I can't afford much more on glass, and frankly even with the rate of improvement I'm at I really don't see me pushing the limits of anything more than a Strike Eagle anytime soon. I just spent $1500 on glass for my Tikka T3x and feel dirty for doing so, and I honestly think I made a mistake in doing so.

Ok, let me engage my tism a little here. Or a lot.

It's pretty rare for that to happen. Most of the daytime shooting I do is in the shade under a roof at the range, and that's not enough to make the dot wash out even against white gongs. You'd need to be looking at something bright and have the sight someplace very dark, like the D.C. sniper in a car trunk.

The best way I've found to wash the reticle out is a pistol with a flashlight in a dark house. The flashlight shines forward and the only light making it back to the collector is what has reflected off the walls, so your target is extremely bright and the dot is extremely dim. But when the light is turned off, the tritium make the dot very visible again.

More likely what will happen is the dot will bloom in bright sunlight because the collector works too well, especially the RM08 triangle which rounds off a bit. But that level of brightness is rare too, at least here in Oregon. Even that's not enough to make trouble, but if it's too bad you can always put a piece of electrical tape over part of the collector.

I think those rare issues are a worthy trade for never having to think about the optic after it's zeroed. I'm a big fan of dual-illuminated.

tl;dr Nothing to worry about. For rifle, get the 7 MOA dot (RM04), least likely to bloom, best reticle size for 0-75y chest-size targets, best color for innawoods, cheapest RMR ($300-350 used!).
