Hey /k/ I usually don't post here or even lurk that much but i'm not too sure where else to ask this question.
I am an Australian soldier and i heard this sound once at basic training in kapooka. Its the most spookiest thing you will ever hear in your life and i just found this small segment of it used in this documentary, I'm literally fucking dying to find a full length recording of this, spent the past 4 hrs searching. From memory it also included the sound of crying infants and some mechanical noise i cant explain and just for reference this noise was played at about 4 am as we were sleeping.

Has any else experienced this or even knows where to find a full length recording?

Honestly aussie bro it might not be a real noise or if it is it has been distorted just to fuck with the SASR guys. Example: taking a dog howl and lowering the pitch to and lengthening it, then saying it is bigfoot.

Listening to it again it is the noise from inside the barracks being muffled through walls/windows.

I'm sorry for being a peanut
>>33001724
Idk what it is but i have heard it in person and i'm dying to find a full length recording just to hear it again
>>33001733
It plays till 8:17 you can a fair bit of what is played pretty clearly inside the actual barracks

Regardless my PTSD from basic training is still very triggered, and it was a very diverse range of sounds. I dont think what they did was that simple.
Anyway, know anywhere to start to finding sounds like this? Its definitely the one i heard in basic which means we gotta be able to find it somewhere, but 4 hrs of intensive googleing has yielded me no results

OP I can't find the particular piece your searching for, however if you're looking for similar effects, I would suggest delving into the dark ambient genre. The use if infrasound, jarring tonal dissonance, and harsh noises
may get you close.

If you want to stick to the /k/ realm of things, you might also want to look into the US PSYOPs operated Operation Wandering Soul and it's associated tapes. Many are available on Youtube, although it's hard to be sure that they're authentic, and most come packaged with Tumblr AMV tier videos of generic spooky shit.
