Why are most automatic rifles hammer fired rather than striker fired? Striker is simpler, so what's the problem?

Sauce on VZ58 model?

Lots of Chinese rifles do. Russians use strikers in some of their meme-guns

I meant whether he had access to the 3D model itself. I wouldn't mind making some accessories/replacement parts for them since they're really popular up here and having a reasonably accurate model of the standard rifle would speed up the process significantly.

Well, striker may be simpler but hammer fired is really still quite simple.
What if hammer fired is actually simpler?

It's not.

More reliable primer ignition, a hammer has the extra force of a lever.

Are you sure about that?
I think that hammer-fired guns are less likely to misfire due to light primer strikes since a cocked hammer can store more energy (because of the leverage).
Can we not just admit that they both work absolutely fine?

No, we have to determine which is better through tests and theory and improve it even further.
That is how progress happens.
