A would have been shot by the guy with a rifle immediately. This shot ain't gonna work if your opponent has backup.

Distraction is always good, but it takes about half a second to decide to pull a trigger when something unexpected happens.

That does give you time to react.

B also gets the gun pointed away from you so the grasp reflex of a man fighting to keep him grip on something doesn't get you shot despite distraction and surprise.

Probably A. He diverts the focus of the guy onto his hand and away from the gun, which has a pretty good effect in real life.

That said, disarms are a very dodgy thing and no disarm is 100% safe, especially if the person with the gun has held one before.

Don't even attempt one in real life.

you should probably never atemp one.

in video A the guy pointing the gun is making all kind of stupid decisions in a row.

B is way more aggressive but neglects the safety of everyone arround.

if you ever need to make a grab it need to be supper aggressive in a moment in which the person is distracted or if the person is giving instructions.
you should just control the gun and point it in a safe direction at all times while focusing on incapacitating the dude holding the gun. that's it. like anything in a moment of violence or anxiety focusing in gross motor movements and skills is where is at.
getting the slide out of battery of physically blocking the hammer is good too but more of an afterthought when the gun is under control.
