I would also like to know. I'm all tooled up to build AKs. Do FALs require the same tools or do I need to weld stuff?
>>
>>32959109
Fals are wayyyyy easier to build, only part harder than putting an ar together is the barrel timing and headspace. Barrel has to get timed up to 12 o'clock or front sight is canted and piston tube is off center, once the barrel is timed up right pin gages are used to set proper headspace. Find the pin size that closes on the go and not nogo and then buy the right sized locking shoulder, install and you're good to go.
Arizona response systems has a very helpful manual and a DVD that is very helpful for your first build
>>
>>32959170
Besides headspace gauges what else do I need?

Barrel clamp, receiver wrench, torque wrench, crow's foot for the muzzle device, punches and a flat head screw driver. EZ.

They were select fire and they were even sold to civilians at one point. Parts kits could happen, but they're probably garbage by this point. Better sell off my kit, soon, I just don't know what the value would be.

Could someone point me in the direction of the sites that sell the parts to build a FAL?

That's a real shame, Larry Snickers even once said good things about their FALs. Was probably shilling though.

Its an imbel FAL imported by Springfield. Works as well as other imbel FALs

Well, IMBEL receivers are the best available on the market right now so I guess he's going more for functionality here.

At the very least, avoid coonan like the plague. Not only are their receivers cast but their QC has also gone down the shitter of late.
>>
>>32972343
so, $600 would be a good deal on one?
>>
>>32971930
Their receivers are problematic, too. Do a search on FALFiles for the problems with DSA receivers.

Imbel is good.
>>
>>32972979
Eh, maybe? The FAL is banned by name. Instead of spending money on a rifle you'll have to neuter, spend it on moving out of New Jersey. You won't regret it.

The only part of a fucking FAL I'd have to unfuck is I would have to unsodder the muzzle break and put on a flash hider.

Thats it. Like the only 3 things Illegal about the FAL in NJ are the flash hider/bayonet thing, the mags, and the letters F, N, A, and L

For a good all round hunting shtf rifle is the fall worth it?

Can you even accurize it?
It seems like the trigger is jacked, the barrel harmonics are wacky and can't be free floated, the rearward force destroys optics.

I love everything that people say about the fal but it seems that it will never be a 1moa rifle

I've seen free floated accurized builds with match loadings at 1MOA in FALfiles.
