I think you got that wrong way around, OP dear.
Was a complete AR faggot as a kid, because it looked so much cooler and modern than a "wood covered pipe" that was an AK.
Then I actually started doing research and shooting guns, and my world turned upside down.

True. I used to really want an AK as my go-to rifle, but when I grew up and realized that being an American means I'm surrounded by 5.56 and AR parts it makes way more sense to buy an AR.

That doesn't mean I can't also enjoy my AK though.

I'm just going to get a good AR15 before diving into other rifles. I want an AK, but the AR is more practical, and with prices being so low, you'd be a fool to not go with an AR.
