No it won't. It drys in seconds, is non abrasive or full of chemicals , and is a half decent lubricant.

As far as helping, who knows. It won't really hurt unless you go crazy, but it won't gum up Springs or eat seals.

Take the intensity downs. Wd40 is fine for metal. A lot of machine shops will spray fixtures and vices down with it. It is however horrible on wood stocks and will buttfuck your stock and make the grain soft as shit. More so than many gun oils.

Clyde is a manufacturer of crane draw works and engines. They are used as the standard. The higher the number the larger the crane. My point was, it is just as dangerous of a machine as a firearm with just as much of a need for precision, and I trust WD, but as other anon pointed out, I fell face first into a pile of troll shit.

I guess I was a bit vague, clyde designed and built cranes for ports, ship yards, and derricks in the 40s 50s and 60s. Most all of there machines are still operable and used today. We use WD for all the springs, throws, arms, nuts, pins, and anything else that will not get into the friction pads. Obviously we use petroleum grease for all parts that are in perpetual motion, but WD holds up for just about anything that needs to be taken apart later, and extends the life of most Springs, pins, keys, or whatever else. Again, something like fluid film works better but WD gets the job done.

You should also try different ammo, maybe try steel cases if you shoot brass and try brass case if you shoot steel, and try different magazines. If you use plastic Pmag type magazines try using aluminum magazines.

this, if youre lazy go to walmart and buy a can of remington spray oil in the hunting section for like $7. Spray it in the action not the barrel. You can spray it anywhere on the metal you want actually, it's mostly to prevent rust but will help
