If you put a pinhole anywhere in the cooler or lines of an automatic transmission you will be mobility killed. Any mechanic knows this. Anyone not a mechanic should learn at least the basics to have an even slightly informed opinion on vehicles.

Manual transmissions are simple, robust, and do not require ANY electronic or hydraulic components to shift or operate the clutch.

Proficient rockcrawlers and other US offroaders commonly install manual transmission conversions or use them when building custom vehicles. Novak and Advance Adapters sell parts and kits for this.

Manuals are only difficult to drive if you shouldn't be driving in the first place (or they are so ancient they lack synchomesh).
