Had a similar moment the other day. Was messing around with a mil surp m9 mag I had. Couldn't figure out why it was having trouble locking back on last round.

So I threw some live rounds in and started cycling, reloading, dumping fresh mag.

Once and a while, it wouldn't lock up, in which case I'd drop the mag and continue.

Had a massive brain fart after giving up and ended up not cycling the rounds completely.

Ended up throwing my SD mag in, loaded, thinking it wasn't. I think I just about shit myself when I pulled the slide and saw a round pop out, since I sometimes like to fingerfuck my Beretta.

That was one hell of a fucking wake-up call.

me. Although due to health problems I have been on way worse shit than ambien. Ambien just makes me toss and turn rather than get good sleep. Helps me fall asleep but not stay in deep sleep so I toss and turn like Thomas Jefferson in his grave during the Obama administration. I dont go crazy though. It did make taking a shit more interesting though. Fast acting benzodiazapines like medazalam also make me a bit crazy, usually just a bit more talkative but sometimes acting like I am super drunk. Opioids just make me feel like shit and get an awful head rush but they kill pain well. Regular benzodiazapines like diazapam (valium) have little effect on me in the dose I take. I think I accidentally took 2 once and all it did was make me sleep for several hours. IV benedryl is crazy though I used to think benedryl threads on /b/ were a joke turns out there is probably some truth in them after all. All in all most drugs really do suck especially opoids, sorry to share my fucking life story I thought you guys might find it moderatly interesting and to be honest talking about this shit helps me make light of having had to beat cancer twice within two years.

Just a word of advice from someone who loves both alcohol and firearms - really, don't mix them. Like, at all.

I was taught trigger discipline and not to muzzle sweep and all the good stuff from the time I first had toy guns. You'd think it's ingrained. I do have some guns that I keep outside the safe that I know are unloaded, but I always treat every gun as if it's ready to fire. When sober, at least. I've had a couple instances when I've been drinking and either decided to show a friend a gun or they showed me their newest acquisition, and I have caught myself being careless.
