A four inch barrel is the minimum barrel length for 357, and six is honestly the best in terms of performance to overall size and balance.

If Ruger brings this out in the standard Redhawk sizes I will be first on the list for one.

Well, it just came out. I haven't even seen one in any of my local gunshops.

Ballistic data aside, I really like snub nose magnums. No, they aren't ideal, but they have a certain charm. A gun like that will basically last forever, takes common ammo with a wide range of power and applications, and some will think it has a cool factor.

Guns are like cars. In some sense, getting a 14mpg muscle car is kind of dumb, but there's no denying that it's got an appeal.

People haven't been talking about it because it's just been released.

No, they are fucking huge. They're actually bigger than my SuperRedhawk Alaskan but weigh the same. They're more compact than the long barrels and you can carry them, but I don't think they were designed for normal self defense.
