Now, the basic-most thing would be elbow and knee caps, a bike helmet or a steel pot (but the milsurp ones ring like a motherfucker) and for the chest, if you want to nigga-rig something, you might have a go at making a breastplate of sorts, either metal or, dunno, layers of fiberglass. Saw a dude make himself a vest that stopp'd a 9mm from, dunno, 14 layers of 6oz fiberglass fabric bound with latex.

Remember, against blunt force, hard surfaces like head, collar bones and joints are vulnerable.

The best I can think of is looking into what HEMA people wear, Skallagrim (YouTube) has videos on this.

HEMA gear has to be very mobile and flexible but be able to take the hit from a blunt lonsword with out breaking your arm or hand.

Lacrosse gear
Motorcycle jackets
Plastic lamellar (pre-made or made from home depot buckets and paracord).
Padded compression
Leather weightlifting belt for kidney protection.
Motocross gear.
Carpet turned inside out. Cut to fit.
