Firearm "customization" is suicide 99% of the time. Cerakote and stuff like that you can get away with, but even that can cause problems too (painting a free floating barrel fucks up barrel harmonics, for example).

I've done a couple things to aesthetically alter my guns. I used a wood burning pen to put "Little Bunny Foo Foo" on my Marlin 60 since I used it for killing bunnies. I'm planning on burning my dad's cattlebrand onto my lever action's buttstock next time I got home to visit him. I engraved my ex-gf of five year's name on my Glock 19's slide when we were dating. I use white, black, and red paint markers to inlay my guns. I'm a sucker for black and gray and spent too much money just to put stealth gray magpul furniture on my AR even though it added virtually no value to it. I'm thinking about doing some sweetheart grips on my 1911 if things with the girl I've been talking to now work out.

I added a red aluminum trigger to my Shield, both for flavor and function since the stock trigger is shit. I also (poorly) polished the face of the barrel so you get that distinct "Oh fuck that's a gun" feeling when viewing the front. I'll touch it up sometime.

Its not hard to do.Hell if you halve a set of wood and want to pay the shipping and 30$ bucks i got enough left over to do another set.
I dont use a stain i use a dye which makes the grain very noticeable.If the wood has very little grain its not gonna look as good.I find that laminated wood is the best base.Heres a pic of a c39 i did with Romanian laminate on it.

Talon grips on my wife's FDE Glock 19. I bought some thinking they'd be good for a firefight. It turned out that I don't really notice a difference (rubberized texture). However, my wife thought they looked cool and wanted to put them on her FDE Glock.

They look fuckin' sweet. Her trigger, sights, and magazine are all black. So is the Barrel. Adding a black lowlight to the grip has made it look really cool, and now I'm jealous of my wife's gun.

I used to post my adventures in AK stock coloring a few years back. I did an M92 in green just like yours.
did orange, blue, red, yellow, green, and brown.
Orange was muh favorite. Green looked pretty cool but even yours has the same problems mine did, the top handguard rejected most of the dye and came out way lighter.
M92s wood does not like dye as much as stain.

Thanks man. It turned into a pretty fun project to do with my sister. She's a graphic design major, so this kinda shit comes naturally to her.

All the furniture except the stock is US-made plastic stuff, so I don't feel too bad about painting it. The rifle normally looks like pic related, but now I have a set of batshit crazy furniture in case I need to feel like a special snowflake. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
