No. If you're going to get a new one get the frame safety.

what about jerichos in general? I just googled a pic of a jericho

Should I? Alternatives would be a SKS a family friend has, or just hoarding ammo.
>>
Mossberg 930

Thing is I already have more shotguns than I know what to do with.
>>
>>32897782
What price would you end up paying for the SKS?

Do you own any other rifles?
>>
>>32897809
what shotguns?
>>
>>32897782
first rifle or no?
>>
>>32897782
American made? no

should probably go for the SKS assuming it's cheaper than buying a surplus one.
>>
>>32897865
Stoeger Condor and Browning Auto-5.
As far as I know 3-gun isn't really a thing around here.
>>
browning hi power. is single action really that bad?
>>
>>32897533

I kind of want to pick up either a Ross rifle or a Hudson 9
>>
>>32897902
>is single action really that bad?

No, single action only is really nice. The only complaint I have about the Hi Power is the magazine safety. It can make the trigger feel a little gritty if you don't lube it well.

Overall they're nice guns though, I still use mine as my edc piece.
>>
>>32897611
Older ones (all steel) are cool. They point and shoot very well bc of the hefty steel frame. They look cool and they are a slightly different flavor than just a plain cz75. Also, a lot of guys talk about frame vs slide saftey, but its not a big deal either way (i have a 941f)
>>
>>32897882
in the market for anything else? If not then why not, if yes then probably buy that. If youre not looking for something new and different get something fun

Not my first rifle, I have a Mosin with me and a Savage .308 at my parent's. I don't know what I would have to drop on the SKS, probably in the 2 to 300 range as it's family-friend. I think my next big priority is a semi-auto rifle along those lines, so suggestions are welcome.
>>
>>32897533
The Skorpion. I have a .32 Skorpion in a local gun shop, sans stock, for $500. I have a massive erection for this goddamn gun but can never justify the purchase to myself.
>>
>>32897993
Not really, I've been into guns for years and only now I'm starting to fully comprehend how limited our options are in Canada as far as original things go.
I'm way better at shooting shotguns than rifles and we actually have a decent selection of them here for some reason anyway so maybe it would be nice.

Should I get the MKIV or one of the older models that don't have the takedown button?

Experiences on the takedown model?
>>
i was on the fence about a Zenith Z5RS (fullsize MP5 clone)

and then the supply dried up while Zenith's most recent batch of imports was being held up, and i wanted to buy one

and then my boss found one, bought it, and now i have to come up with some moolah to finish paying off that bastard, and its tax return season

i am so glad i jumped off the fence and went for it

final plan is:
>Z5RS
>full stock, wide handguard (from HKparts)
>Omega 9k w/griffin tri lug

>>32897668
>>32897681
anything CZ right now is fucking hard to get, the rami especially. theyre good but a touch heavy for their size, but great to shoot

the P07 i was not a huge fan of, i would wait for the P10C to come out and check that out if you want poly frame

>>32897782
doesnt hurt to have an AK, i would wait for the new Arsenal to drop or snag a VEPR. the new arsenal is $850 MSRP, and the VEPRs go for about 1k, the VEPRs also use RPK receivers

>>32897809
save up a bit more and buy something special like an FN SLP?
>>
>>32898033
If you're really dead-set on getting a rifle in 7.62x39 and you think you can get the SKS for cheap, I'd probably go with that.

If you really want an AK, save up and get something that isn't shit. Right now the only cheap AKs you can get are American ones of questionable quality.

>Held a RAMI in a gun shop last year

I really want one of these, but im leaning towards 9mm
>>
>>32898064
i have a MKIII 22/45 and im probably going to sell it for the MKIV

for me to just strip and reassemble my MKIII is at least a 20 minute process, 30-40 if i fuck it up and have to redo it, its seriously a pain in the ass

the 3 and 4 are going to shoot really nearly the same, not much has changed there, but the 4 doesnt have a 22/45 version unless you want the 22/45 lite

the 3 is completely discontinued now and distributors have completely removed them from their catalogs, in all versions, they arent going to be sold anymore so your only options are used guns, on the plus side youre goin to be paying less

the big upside to the 3 is that parts are fucking everywhere and pretty affordable, parts for the 4 are trickling out

honestly id sell my 3 before taking it apart again

>>32898157
damn son you should have snagged that, the last one i saw was in the high $6xx range plus tax
>>
>>32898152
Thanks for the advice. I'll start plying my friend about the SKS. I'd rather have something fairly-useful and fun and I not necessarily set on needing an AK as much as a semiauto rifle with a decent cartridge.
>>
>>32898189
side note, im thinking about a zastava as well and cant pick between them
>>
>>32898189
Get a Zastava. They make Toks in 7.62 and 9mm with actual functional safeties and an extra round in the mag.

Even have a subcompact 9mm Tok.
>>
>>32898113
>save up a bit more and buy something special like an FN SLP?
I don't even know if they're available in Syrupland.
How are they different exactly? I'm not seeing any obvious changes.

How to acquire handguns in commiefornia with sketchy psych history? I had a couple bouts with suicidal depression back in HS and was on an involuntary hold for 48 hours once, wondering if I'm hosed or not.
>>
>>32898207
i sold my SKS to fund an AK, i had a sino soviet made in the early 50's, mix n match parts

the SKS is heavy, a bitch to clean, has issues with slamfires, clips that arent russian are unreliable as fuck

but its pretty damn accurate, points super well, loading it from a reliable stripper clip is fuckin fun, and any gear is cheap as fuck for them

>>32898228
without a doubt the FN is going to be better fit/finish, but they are both gas operated, the FN is a super popular option but its not as affordable as the 930 for sure. the 930 has definitely been on my radar, the JM version in freedom bux is about $650 + tax, the FN is about $400-500 more than that. comes down to budget and preference, really

I don't have any personal experience with railed dust covers on AKs, but others seem to have poor opinions of them. They tend to be shaky and that might be even more of a problem if you're shooting .308. I'd try and look into getting a side mount.

Like I said, I have no experience with them though, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

two different animals. The ppx is arguably a better carry gun and more simple and modern, while the 5903 has a cooler factor and will be unique in a sea of plastic thats all coming out right now
5903 is you want something cool, range toy, or maybe carry if you want to be a special snow flake
ppx if youre just looking for a fucking gun

That's neat, looks a lot more stable than the ones that just secured by the rear recoil spring guide.

Do you ever find yourself losing zero or does it stay pretty consistent?

The PX4 Storm is the one I keep coming back to. Both the full size and compact are pretty interesting to me. I've handled them in gun stores and was impressed with the trigger, but the slide-mounted safety/decocker is a sticking point.

The veshmeshok really fits the bill for a small, tough, frameless pack for essential items, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to drop 30 bucks on a glorified potato sack. Also, those straps don't exact ooze an air of comfort either

I accidentally convinced my friend to get one by suggesting one to her for a CCW as a gag but she got it and seems to have a high opinion of it.

I kind of distrust it but it hasn't blown up on her yet so there's that.

The USP45 is more operator-er and has metal magazines. The USP9 Compact is more compacter and actually looks like a 9mm pistol should look. Not to say that the USP9 is a bad gun, it's just big for what it is.
