It only took a year, but I finally got my 300 Win Mag suppressed.
Anyone else suppress their precision rigs?

For now my match rifle is short, silent, and 30 caliber, but eventually I plan to re-barrel it to 6.5CM when the barrel is shot out.
Also hunting with your precision rifle is a great time.
I guess the Superb Owl has all the traffic diverted from /k/ tonight...
I took my can off last outing because I think it has been shifting during barrel heating too much because of the thin barrel.
Not sure if I should go with a 10 FCP-SR or a 10T-SR (thick fluted vs thicker/varmint, both threaded). Would be 6.5CM. Alternatively, I could just rebarrel the tikka from 308 to 6.5
What are some good FM's to read on precision shooting?

Oh, and it seems like the 175TMKs loaded with 43.5gr of 4064 worked fairly well. Sub MOA 5 shot group but I think better can be done. I'm thinking of trying the 168 ELDx because I can get more powder in there and seat them longer. 45.5gr of 4064 with 175TMKs was too compressed and the neck tension wasn't enough so it pushed the bullet back out a little bit; showed some good pressure signs as well.
Ok, so maybe this is the place to ask. I want a "custom" long range rifle. It has to be left handed, 300 winmag, and take some sort of detachable magazine. Looking around $4500, not including optics and rings.
Any suggestions for what I should look at action wise? Thinking about a Lothar Walther barrel as well.

Surgeon action, Krieger barrel, MPA BA SF would be something I would consider. Then again, maybe I'm just meme'ing and don't know anything about it. You don't need to spend that much on a good shooter, but I'm not going to try to push a $500 rifle on you if that's not what you want. Make sure you got enough money for reloading, components, LRF, chrono, and of course glass.

I should note, I'm not seeing Surgeon long action left handed models though.

Yes. Right now i have a specwar 762 on my 6.5creedmoor but i have a thunderbeast 6.5 ultra 7 pending.
If this thread is alive tomorrow i will post it.

So whats your bolt poorfag beginner setup recommendations?
>>32898543
That's the difficulty I'm running into.

I'm probably not a good enough shot to utilize what I'm building effectively. I just want it to round out my collection and also have the option if I ever am that good.

In 308.

They are a special order. And you may be waiting a long time.
You could do an ARC rifle. Or a savage lefty action on a nice barrel in a MPA or other chassis
I have the mpa on my howa. It is great. I am also left handed. For precision rife i just shoot my right handed howa 1500 action lefty

Nothing wrong with that, as long as you got your ducks in a row. I'd give them a call; for a small volume shop like theirs, I would think they could make you one. Alternatively, a tikka/Sako may be a good starting point; their receivers are quite rigid. You may have difficulty with finding a chassis for them but I know they are out there.

Howa 1500 barreled action from Brownell
Bell and carlson stock ( or mpa if you can swing the cash)
Egw rail
Harris bipod
Warne rings
Swfa or vortex scope.
