How do you chose a suppressor? Will all .22 suppressors work for any .22? The gun I'm shooting is a Savage Mark ii F. Cheaper than better.

First of all do you have the mkii with the threaded barrel

I choose by
Ease of disassembly/cleaning (.22 is gross)
Price
Materials
Thread pitch (pretty standard)
Performance

One thing you will find with suppressing a cheap .22 is that the cost of threading the barrel might approach the cost of a new gun or barrel. If the barrel isn't factory threaded that it.
Don't skimp on threading. Misaligned threads can destroy your can. How pissed would you be if you wait a year for your stamp then grenade your can.
Their are tons of supressor tests online. the common theme on .22 supressors is:
>they are all pretty good
>most are pretty cheap
>the "premium" cans tend to only make much difference on pistols. Rifles supress really nicely
>as mentioned make sure it's serviceable. 22 is dirty as fuck you will need to clean lead out of it eventually
What is good suppressor for 15 22
I am interested in 'dink' noises and fun times

availability and diameter. if you'r only using it on a rifle then diameter isnt a huge deal. but 1 inch vs 1.3 inches on a pistol can make a huge difference

can those cycle subs? if not you're still going to get a sonic boom. for stupid quiet a bolt action with subs is usually the way to go.
>>32869508
pardon muh ignorance,
what's a cycle sub
>>32869574
Subsonic rounds
>>32869619
is it absolutely required?
22.lrs are inherently not very loud.
>>32869632
not at all required. but for that hollywood quiet you wont want to use super sonic ammo...just something worth considering
>>32869632
The difference is still substantial.
Supersonic supressed .22 is still quieter than pretty much any other caliber (sub or not) and is well under hearing protection threshold. Subsonic just gets down to Hollywood quiet
Also, supersonic .22 ammo I'd generally still subsonic out of most pistols.
>cycling subsonic .22
This is a missed bag. Seems like stock 10/22s, as well as ruger mark and buckmark based pistols cycle it ok (although it may fail to engage the bolt catch or occasionally fail to fully cycle) more finicky guns (actual .22 ar15s, full slide pistols ect) it might be more of a problem. But again, those pistols don't need subsonic ammo.
