That's weird. I have over 35 years wearing foamies including many thousands of hours on the flightline and in welding shops I have never heard of this problem.

Are you seating them with a ramrod??? What PART of your ear hurts?

I roll between thumb and forefinger, moisten slightly with saliva and gently push into the canal. BTW you can wash foamies by leaving them in a pants or shirt pocket when laundering. Foamies keep your ears clean. It's like running a patch down a bore.

You can try other styles of ear plug to see what works for you.

Can 7mm RemMag defeat body armor? Up to what level of protection?

I ask because afaik all the commercially-available rounds are soft-tip as it's pretty much exclusively used for hunting.

It's my elk rifle and it's accurate and powerful as fuck but in terms of a situation where I'd be dealing with armor I don't actually know how the round performs.
>>
what armor plates should I get?

I'm on ebay looking around.

I'm seeing level III and III+ which is lighter,
Torn between 8x10, 10x12, and 11x14 sizes.

Swimmers cut or whatever saves some weight which would be nice.

I want to slap these into my german flak jacket, have the flak part help against spall. theres some companies like tac scoprion that do a quarter inch thick coating to prevent spall too, worth it?

if its worth it i will either get a 10x12 or 11x14 III+ with spall

A heavier bullet can withstand higher pressures with an upwards trend - metal is really good at resisting gas pressure. So although a heavier projectile would seem to lower your velocity, with smart cartridge design a heavy round is capable of much higher clean velocities.
Not to mention the increase in kinetic force and overall ballistics.

Redirecting the gasses that leave the suppressor isn't pointless, and can reduce recoil in the same way a muzzle break without a suppressor can.
>>
Need help deciding on a first gun, budget is not really a big issue. Can't decide between a semi-auto rifle like an AR, a pistol caliber carbine or a good old standby shotgun.
Kinda leaning towards the latter, mainly because police trade-ins that can be prettied up are a hot item.
>>
>>32873162
But you would still be focusing the gas into a single point of least resistance which would AT LEAST undermine the function of the suppressor and worst case cause a notable flash/bang that completely defeats the point you utter retard.
>>
What's a decent, inexpensive first rifle to buy? I'm not looking for a Mosin Nagant or an AR-15 really
>>

>Explosion of gas coming out of suppressor isn't loud, no muzzle flash visible

If you want a bolt action, get a ruger american or a cheap CZ.

If you want a semi, get a WASR 10 or a ruger 10/22 or some shit.

How can I mount this scope on a PTR as low as possible, while clearing the rear sight?

30mm scope. I have a lot of PA products and bought this from their eBay page.

I am planning on spending about half of my tax return on a new firearm. I have the choices narrowed down to three possibilities:

1. Ruger GP100, and send it to Gemini Customs ~$2K

2. Fusion Firearms Long Slide 1911, have them do some custom work, ~$1.9K

3. Sig Sauer P220 Elite 10mm, and buy Karl Nill wood service grips for it, ~$1.4K

Suppressors work by allowing the gas to bleed off through the baffels and slow down because they have nowhere else to go, if there's a huge brake then the gas is only going to slow down until access to that brake clears, so you'll have somewhat less exit pressure but not nearly enough.

Waiting on moving out of NJ before buying an ar or ak, but I recently found out you can't put full 30 round magazines in an ar with the bolt closed, is this true for all 30 rounders for ar's? Also, can you load a full 30 round mag in an ak with the bolt closed?

>>
>>32875417
No, but if you go pure utilitarian you'd just be getting glocks and ARs.

Damn.
Anyway, there isnt really anything special about gun shows. Be polite and you can handle almost any of the guns there. Dont expect great deals on things but some can be had if you know what you are looking for.
Ammo is often cheap enough when you factor in that you dont pay shipping.

Is 9mm the best pistol cartridge for use with suppressors? 147/165 grains are very effective, and it's got a small diameter.

Depends on what you want to do with your suppressed handgun. .22 LR, 9mm kurz, 9mm Luger, and .45 ACP are all rather popular suppressed handgun chamberings.

Hypothetically, if I own an M85-PAP (5.56 AK pattern pistol) with a side folding blade "brace". And for the sake of argument, I go the a public range and a friend wants to shoot it so I verbally explain to them that if they need support that they should pull away from their body with the pistol keeping tension on the sling.

If, while I'm a lane over, and they ignore my advice and shoulder this "brace", but are completely ignorant of the law, could they get a federal vacation? Could I?
