I'll keep it simple.

I want soft body armor that will stop most pistol threats and sharp objects.

Is there any police/mil surplus that I could purchase that can accomplish this while being concealed under a light jacket or button up?

If not, what's my best option under $1000, PS: No AR500 steel plates

A stab vest will not stop a bullet, and a bulletproof vest will not stop a stab
>>
>>32855703
>stop most pistol threats and sharp objects.
Most bullet+edge combos are gonna be too bulky to conceal.

>>32856274
There are many products that combine both into a single vest, commonly found in overt police vests.

What about a concealable vest to wear under a shirt.
>>
>>32856964
you're gonna look like you're wearing a vest underneath.

Sometimes. The loss prevention guy at work wears a stab vest. Couldn't tell until he was carrying it out one day.

For a stab vest it has minimal coverage.
The kidneys are very vulnerable to knives.

Safe Life Defense is a new company, but Im very interested in their IIIA vest. $400 and they can fit optional plates

If you find a fairly loose fitting shirt you can conceal.

Yes. Tons of.
The UK cop vests are first good example. There's also plenty of brand new designs.

This one is two sizes too small for you but I'm sure you can find bigger if you check the store.

>bulletproof vest

Ceramics and steel will.

Of course anon asked for "soft" armor, so I guess my point is mute.

Unless anon feels like covering his armor with shear-thickening fluid or sturdy plastics..

Don't forget spleen, you'll bleed out right quick if you get shanked there.

>what is perspective?

Dog is behind him. Gun is in front of him angled down. He is not flagging his dog.
>>
>>32857949
You have to admit though, if the gun went off (though he has good trigger discipline and safety is on I think), doggo wouldn't be able to hear the same.
>>
>>32855703
A medieval breastplate underneath a bullet-proof vest should protect you from both, but usually one or the other
>>
>>32857962
ok so lets not just hold guns anymore

He could've pointed more upwards. It's easier and cheaper to repair a wall or ceiling than a shredded dog.

But what if there was another dog?? WHAT NOW LAW MAN
>>
>>32855723
Kind curious, why are UK sellers selling ballistic vests for so cheap? The US has plenty of police departments but I don't see surplus American ballistic vests.
>>
>>32859943
I think it has to do with government contracts, having the police departments signing that they will not resell old vests.
The manufacturers do not want the civilian market in the US to become saturated with secondhand vests of their brand, driving down the price.
The manufacturers only care about printing money, that's why all of them state that a vest needs to be replaced every 5 years.
This is just speculation, there are some cops on /k/, maybe they will answer your question later.

Soft armor rated for 9mm would protect against most threats, it's really flexible but you're probably going to look kinda chubby with it. Wouldn't want to get hit by one with it on even because no backing/padding it'd probably hurt just as bad as if the bullet went in even if it didn't do as much damage.

Because in the UK theres a 90% chance a roving band of peaceful refugees will stab you with a butter knife once a month

>XL
>Two sizes too small
Those are some serious implications you're implying hombre
>>
>>32857204
There's a reason for that. If you extend the body armor down it'll reduce mobility and make it hard to bend over/sit down.

If you're really worried about that you could always buy a vest meant for someone taller than you.
>>
>>32855703
>>32856274
Wear shark mail under the vest.

That things probably a bitch to bend over in, if it can stop a stab and a Tok round its good shit but uless its some crazy spider silk gotlat made shit its gonna be "dense"
>>
>>32864576
I bought one of those stab/bullet proof combo vests. The stab proof part is just a layer of chainmail, it's kinda of funny.

>>
>>32864932

*over or under the kevlar
>>
>>32864932
The one I got is over the kevlar, you can feel the bumpiness of the chains through the vest.
>>
>>32864707
It looks like it's poorly photoshopped onto the dude, realistically the vest should end around your navel.
