What's a fair price for .22 ammo?

I'm a new gun owner, just purchased a Browning Buck Mark. The shop owner recommended Winchester high velocity which came out to about 13 cents/round. After doing some searching online I see options as cheap as 6 cents/round, so I kind of feel ripped off. Of course you get what you pay for, but that's like twice as much. What are the cheapest brands with reasonable quality? I'm in Southern California if that matters.
>>
>>32855249
7 cents a round.

Buy from the internet in bulk.
>>
>>32855249
I pay €0.08 for CCI Mini-Mag.
>>
CCI quiet.
$62.99 for five hundred.
>>
Federal Auto Match is worth a try. Works great in any .22 autoloader I've tried.
>>
>>32855860
That's a fucking awful price for 500 rounds. OP Google ammoseek. It'll give you up to date prices pulled from everywhere.
>>
>>32855249
a 100 round brick goes for about 8$ at my local supermarket/sporting goods store. always in stock, too, with no purchase limits.
>>
>>32856237
When its in stock (sells out fast) my LGS has winchester super X and CCI mini mags for 8.99 per 100 rounds. I always tey to go CCI as my Walther P22q hates winchester.
Midway just had CCI minimags on sale for 23.99 for 500 round box. I bought 5 so I should be set for awhile. Also, why the hell does most online retailers limit the ammount of .22lr you can buy?
>>
>>32857325
Retailers are more likely to get return customers if people know said retailer always have stock ready.
>>
>>32856237
then why arent you hoarding for later profiteering?
>>
>>32855249
West Europe here.
Common price is 3-4€ for a box of 50 (the good stuff like CCI)
>>
>>32856237
Well, why would they put purchase limits on their 22lr when they're raping you for price?
>>
>>32857785
Because fudds buy the whole shelf and everyonce else gets fucking pissed
>>
>>32856126
325 round brick of Federal Automatch goes for $25 at my store (sometimes on sale for $19)

I haven't shot a lot of different ammo through my Buckmark, but I know the jacketed Federal ammo feeds really well. I tried some lead Winchester ammo one time and got about one stovepipe per magazine.
>>
>>32855249
>13 cents/round
>I kind of feel ripped off

Find another hobby.
>>
>>32857868
i mean it is pretty jewish to be upset about slightly overpaying for the cheapest ammo, but you can certainly do better than 13 c/round
>>
>>32855249
>After doing some searching online I see options as cheap as 6 cents/round,
Add shipping and then do your math again.
Also, this:

>>

>I always tey to go CCI as my Walther P22 hates winchester.

weird, my p22 eats its any food I feed it, ive heard mosquitoes are really picky though.

my favorite thing is to fire it sideways with the walther laser on it.

>>32857554
Because that is retarded, and dirty .22LR hoarding Fudds deserve the economic disparity they're setting themselves up for

Sorry to hijack the thread but where do i buy .223/5.56 for $0.20/rnd?

I need anything but FMJ and XM855.M855, or M193, none magnetic.

I've looked every where.

Anyone one know any cheap sites for 8x57mm?
>>
>>32857794
but it's not hard for them to get 22lr shipped in any more, they might as well sell as much as possible for that high price
they can't really lose
>>
>>32858472
You don't.

>inb4 cheap reloads or serb ammo
If it blow up your gun, it's not cheaper is it?
>>
>>32857897
I ordered a brick of 500 .22LR off Natchez for $30 +shipping which I believe was 16. $46 for 500 comes out to a little over 9 cents a round. At 13cpr a brick of 500 would be $65. That is absolutely a ripoff if the guy just wants some plinking/standard target ammo. That price would be kind of okay for some of the rarer super high velocity stuff like CCI Stingers, but the guy could even get Minimags for a fuckload cheaper than 13cpr if he looked around.
>>
>>32858624
Except their customers. I've noped out of several guns stores, never to return, simply because they gouged on ammo.

I have to buy my .22 online, b/c the retarded Fudds keep buying it. (but I'd do this anyway, since it's cheaper)
>>
>>32858730
>That is absolutely a ripoff
Welcome to buying any ammo at a gunshop.
>>
>>32858472
Estate sales only. Google estate sales in your area and search through for any mention of guns. My friend and I went to one with $2k walked out with 8 guns, and they threw in the ammo for free. They sold a les baer custom 45 competition pistol with upgrades. Probably a 3800 dollar gun for 1500 bucks.
>>
>>32855249
Most .22lr semi's like high velocity ammo. It doesn't have to be the ultra high velocity stuff like CCI Stingers/Rem Viper/Browning Performance 1400fps+ stuff, just your run of the mill bulk pack ~1200fps stuff.

I like Federal Automatch, which comes in 325ct bulk packs for between $17 and $20 online (5.2-6.1cpr) or between $18 and $25 in brick and mortar stores (5.5-7.7cpr). It's accurate, clean, and somewhat reliable. I will switch to CCI Blazer if I'm shooting timed events such as NRA Combat during pistol league simply because in over 100,000 rounds of it I've *never* had a dud, and the accuracy difference is so small I'll never realize it with a pistol.
>>
>>32858737
Well, when you can buy GT 762x39 for ~24c/r, I'd feel pretty stupid buying 22lr at 8c/r, or even 6c/r to be honest.
>>
>>32855249
more than 10c/b is rip for standard. eurofagcents that is in my case.
>>
>>32858835
Care to try that again in an intelligible language?

>>32858825
At 6cpr you can shoot 4x as much for the same money though.
>>
>>32858850
>At 6cpr you can shoot 4x as much for the same money though.
Yeah, and be bored stiff in comparison per shot taken.
I like my 22s, but I get 10x the fun from a single round of almost anything centerfire. I love blasting mud and steel and other stuff, and using guns that don't make my dick go limp to look at in comparison.
