What's the closest you can come to putting a VFG on your handgun?
>without paperwork that is

I want to push forward on a VFG not pull back on an AFG.

That's on a rifle technically but it does bring up legal questions of mounting a handgun to your handgun.

This is angled enough to be defensible in the not-going-to-happen event that anyone gives a shit.

>>
>>32852096
It's an aow if you put a vfg on a pistol or anything classified as a pistol
>>
>>32852096
Are you suggesting that putting your thumb behind an AFG redesigns it as a VFG opening you up to criminal charges for manufacturing of an any other weapon?
I have not seen the ATF express that opinion.

>>32852044
99.99% of the time everything is cool but I don't want to risk running into some small town Barney Fife wearing his oversized Oakley's and wanting to prove something because he was never in the military.

>grip that is 1/8of a degree angled back for 1mm of length, then completely vertical for the rest of it's length
>>
Have it be 26" or more in OAL and put a vfg.
>>
>>32852127
>No one has ever been charged for using a vfg on a pistol.
>Even when it could have been easily added to other criminal charges it has been dismissed
>The angle of the grip provides an "It's totally an AFG" claim to defense.
The charges wouldn't stand. They won't even be brought up.
>>
I'm building an AR with a 14.5 inch barrel and an unpinned flash hider.

When the ATF knocks and measures my rifles, I'll just have to go Waco on them.
>>
>>32852506
If this ever really became an issue ypuldnt you just..
>"I bought the upper from a guy at a gunshow and he told me it was pinned!"
>Court can't prove otherwise?
>>
>>32852545
>"told me it was pinned/welded/soldered" etc.
>"Either he lied or did a shit job and the ATF's breaker bar broke the solder/weld"
>>
>>32852545
Court doesn't have to prove anything in order to financially ruin you and destroy months possibly years of your life.

Being convicted is the least of your worries.
>>
>>32851648
Can you put a handstop on it?
>>
>>32852588
Right, but this is all in the absolute worst case scenario where there is literally a roving Jew ATF agent performing unwarranted measurements of people's guns just to snipe them. It, at least in my experience, doesn't happen. ATF charges are tacked on to some other dumb shit.
>>
>>32851648
>I want to push forward on a VFG not pull back on an AFG.

Put an AFG on backwards.

>>32852613
Yeah, it comes factory with one, the one in the OP specifically.

>Implying there is a difference between no solder and anything other than ATF-brand ATF APPROVED 20,000,000 DEGREE SILVER SOLDER over 50% of the circumference of the barrel.
>>
>>32852802
Well, my brother in law bought some jank ass 4' long "pistol" from some old world soviet era I don't know what and it had the tiniest weld I'd ever seen on the folding stock to make it legal. I didn't but it seemed pretty obvious you could just snap it open any time you wanted to.

I guess the ATF was okay with that.
>>
>>32851648

Op here,

I just wanted to know what alternatives there are to the "hybrid" grips like >>32851662 that look like you could hold them with you thumb behind despite them being angled grips. I highly doubt >>32852044 would be defensible if some jackass decided to pursue it in court.

That said, I just got home from the gym and all I really want to do is masturbate to 3d tentacle rape online but I'm too dehydrated and tired. Just going to drink a beer and overshare here in the hopes of someone suggesting something interesting.
>>
>>32852967
If they made a tactical pussy I could use by sticking my thumb in it... maybe.
>>
>>32852005
so make it a bufferless ar.
>>
Well I just read the ATF letters and they seem to define an angled fore grip as not a vertical fore grip.

I had made the assumption that the difference was whether or not your thumb went behind it but that doesn't seem to be relevant in their letter on the matter.

Maybe >>32852044 is indeed okay.
>>
>>32854040
NVM, I went to BCM website and it literally says vertical grip in the name and description.
>>
>>32851648
"I want to push forward"

https://www.magpul.com/products/firearms-accessories/rails-and-accessories/xtm-hand-stop-kit

Put it on backwards
>>
>>32854106
I have a hand stop and it kind of works for that.
What I've found is that if I want to just hold the gun, 2 handed which it isn't designed for because it's a pistol, that it feels more stable with a thumb behind the grip stop similar to your link. Basically, the slight pushing forward of support hand and pulling back of main hand is more stable than the opposite. More stable to pull apart than to push hands together in my opinion.

So I can use the grip stop to do that and in fact am but it would be nice to have a grip I could really sink the web of my hand behind.

It just has to be handgun legal is all. I'm think I'll go pick up >>32851662.
