I have no clue how the military works.
My question, possibly a bit too specific, is the following one:

Possibly, we might want to narrow down the question:

USMC is approximately 1-6, to 1-7. Approximately 30,000 out of ~180,000. However, keep in mind USMC is more Infantry oriented than the US Army.
