You could reload and fire much faster with a regular bow. I'd pick a 55# recurve. It's almost as good as a shotgun except your attacker will not be scared and will kill you as he slowly bleeds to death. Still, better than nothing.

You have to keep tension on the bow for a really long time, so it's probably not to good for the strings.
Second, some bows don't have a safety discharge and you must fire the bolt to disengage it.

since you guys are so concerned about relationships, i figure i'll dispense some of my own wisdom: after you manage to go past the age of 30 (hopefully most of you do that), you realize that a healthy relationship involves some compromises.


if you're like me, and don't really give a fuck about guns (hard to believe, i know) it's pretty easy to make the concession of not having any guns in the house (which we both pay for 50/50. hard to believe, i know) while also having the idea of some sort of defense for the house.
this thread has taught me that i am in fact wrong in my relationship, and the only reality is that if i don't buy a gun, my girlfriend will fuck a nigger. really interesting stuff, really makes you think.
