What can I do to get my guns back to me if they're locked in somebody else's safe?

>Be 19 year old me
>Gets kicked out of my parent's house
>Have guns that I bought at 18 that are in my name
>Dad refuses to talk to me

Do I just call them a loss or is there something I can do about it?
>Inb4 call the police
>>
>>32832806
call the police
>>
>>32832806
File civil suit with your local court, depending on your state it may help to get a police report for theft beforehand.

Try talking to your parents and explain you don't want to have to spend the money to buy them again, tell them you're going to have to get the state involved if they don't let you have your property back. The court will take care of it, it'll help a lot if you can prove ownership (receipts).
>>
>>32832816
>call the police
This, that is unless you deserved it.
>>
>>32832834
This, also if you've lost receipts dont forget the store you bought them at should have your 4473s documented as well.
A federal document trumps a receipt in court 99/100
>>
>>32832806
Why did you get kicked out
This is important
>>
>>32832881
I agree. Story? I'm 19 too and don't want to end up in your shoes.

Are you a druggie?

>Dont have a plan either

>>

Man if you're not lying you have truly shitty parents.

Sue away, familia
>>
>>32833028

Didn't have enough money for drugs senpai
>>
>>32833051
At the point a lot of us are maybe guns and ammo could count as drugs
>>
>>32833070
Not selling cocaine to local bikers and buying their guns from them while loading your own rounds.
It's like you want daddy government to get involved.
>>
>>32833006

>Don't have a full life plan for what I'm doing

Sounds like me. Only took me until I was almost 30, to discover what I wanted to do with my life.
>>
>>32833238
Why do parents expect their shithead kids to have a butt ton of money and a great career at fucking 18-20 when years ago they had to raise a hand to go poop in a shitter?
Seriously?
>>
>>32833295
People are still thinking like it's the 80s and 90s and not post 2007. They haven't noticed everything's been a bit fucked up for the past decade or so.
>>
>>32833238
As far as I've seen very few people even know who they are before mid 20s. Plans made before then are likely to change drastically.
>>
>>32833322
Like i dont mean to sound like a millienal but at 20 i wanted to get a trade doing electricity.
But have like zero resources and no car.
Hard as fuck to get a job when you need a car to get there and cant get a car because you have no job.
Fucking annoying to no end my shit head cousins get rides fucking 4 hours away to a big city to shop but god fucking forbid I ask for a favor/not throwing hundred dollars bills around like a rapper.
>>
>>32833295
Because they (the parents) at least were more independent at that age. You aren't entitled to keep living in their house but it's a dick move to steal your property.
>>
>>32833295
Because in their time a bachelor's degree was actually worth shit.
For anyone here who have no idea what to do at least consider trades. Best decision I've ever made.
>>
>>32833383
If you had been working throughout high school, you'd have enough money for a used car. Instead you fucked around thinking your parents would do everything for you like the entitled brat you are.
>>
>>32832806
you call the police non emergency line and tell them that you would like an escort to observe you getting your property from your previous address
also you were technically a tenant and can sue them for an illegal eviction- or at least get it in a police report that you were kicked out
>>
>>32833420
>implying
No I had an apartment with a friend the dick head broke the lease and we where kicked out.
Was homeless for a bit and spent my money on a bag for my cloths/quarters for laundry/rent/food
But whatever
>>32833397
Then why the fuck have children if your jus going to kick them out
This is why the Jews win
The buy a house and let every stay there while buying up other property and renting it.
>>
>>32833448
Oh yeah and lost my job because lack of a place to live in November so spent all my money getting busses to Canada.
>>
>>32833448
>Then why the fuck have children if your jus going to kick them out

You are NOT a child any more. I don't care what pop culture, the media, or Obamacare says. Your parent's biggest failure was to make you think you would be a child forever.

They provided for you throughout your childhood. Unfortunately you haven't realized that you are responsible for yourself now.
>>
>>32833295

I have no clue what so ever. I seen a lot of my friends who went to college after highschool, I think maybe 20% of them even use their degree. Most now are going back to school, cause they finally found some thing they wanted to do.

I've worked plumbing, Ive worked as a infectious/nuclear waste disposer at hospitals, I've done retail, I've held a lot of jobs. A lot of shit has not hold my attention. Finally started messing around with hvac and I love it, almost done with my schooling for it (gonna be doing commercial refrigeration)

>>32833340
Yeah man. It's kinda hard to tell what you want to do, until you actually get out there and experience life. You can grow up and have a dream of being (insert what ever you want here) you ended up becoming a EMT, because helping ppl became your life.

If any thing, a parent should not force or expect their kids to do that shit, instead let them live their own life.

Gonna leave an inspirational video from Elliot Hulse. His original speech of this video, is what got me to find my passion.

>>
>>32833556
Not him but not all parents are great. You can't just use a generalization. Maybe you had a good childhood, but I'm haunted by my constantly.
>>
>>32833709

Mhm. I remember being 13, my mom would hit me with a closed fist if I forgot to tell her that some one called, or walked into the house with shoes on, etc.she always threaten to drop me off at CPS.
It's not like I was a lil shit. I always got a compliment from every one on how good I was. My dad even told me that he left my mom, cause she was a crazy bitch.

I moved out when I was 17. I couch hopped, I lived in the woods for seven months, slept in a car and finally moved up to a apartment. Didn't care I was homeless, I was just happy that I got away from her.

I feel sorry for my lil sis, she had it worse than I.
>>
>>32832806
call the police.
>>
>>32833762
I'm going to sound whiny compared to you. I had a parent that loved me but didn't care. Never pushed me to do anything. I failed my freshman year and what did I get? Nothing, he'd rater leave the parenting to a ex meth head step mother and get drunk. I basically raised my self on 4chan. As soon as I could get booze legally, I'd get hammed on the daily. He still wouldn't tell me to stop. This is despite that fact the both him and my mother were alcoholics. IDK man life sucks and seem pretty meaningless most of the time.
>>
>>32833823
similar except my brother used to bash the fuck out of me for no reason and mom just sat by and did nothing, dad was all around the country doing whatever, i eventually moved in with him and it turned out that he was a mix of my brother and mother

left at 18, haven't talked to any of my family since. they all fucking knew, they're just as bad as the cunt who bashed me.
>>
>>32833823

Next time you feel like drinking, do some thing else. Work out, fap, learn or make some thing new. Drinking is the easy way out, anon. I did the exact same to deal with how I was treated with my mom. Sadly it only does more harm than good.

I remember drinking about 90 dollars worth of steel reserve, in a lil less than 2 weeks. (1.30 per can, each can being 22oz at almost 9% alcohol.)

From 14, up to 22, I was pretty suicidal (kept it to myself after I took a shit ton of pills, my mom beat me due to having to rebuy all that shit)

Instead of dwelling on everything as a negative, I turn it into a positive. I got twins on the way (First child ended up being twins, go me) it made it a lesson on how I should never treat my kids.

If I could, I'd give you a hug, anon. You seem like you could use one...no homo though.

Life will seem pretty meaningless, you just got to keep your head up and keep swimming. Sooner or later you'll catch a life preserver, you will get your rescue.

Talk to a lawyer and/or the sheriff and see what they say. Just be sure to speak in hypotheticals with the sheriff. I know there is legal action I just don't know exactly what.

Go through the local phonebook looking for electricians, especially master electricians. Tell them you want to learn the trade, are willing to work for minimum wage, that you'll show up and learn and do every day, and that you'll currently need a ride to whatever job site (willing to walk/ride a bike to a pickup site). It sucks, but you can work to get where you want to be. By the time you're a journeyman electrician, you can afford rent and a reasonable truck. When you go independent, there's a LOT of work so long as you don't fuck up anything.
>>
>>32833383

So >>32840578
isn't joking that it'll suck, but his suggestion is probably your best bet. If you can find a electrician, you can probably find someone on the jobsite near you who will give you a ride. Prepare to bust your ass, but good luck man.

>>
>>32833006
>spending all my saved money on getting another car

Why did you need a second car?
>>
>>32832806
Send a letter to your father. Be respectful. Explain what you want. Do not threaten, do not 'if you do not then i will', none of that. Just explain in a reasonable and respectful way what you want. Express regret for the situation.

A letter may allow for enough emotional distance to help build the bridge you need, if you can pitch it right.

If that doesn't work.

Go to the house. Be polite. Do not spaz. No matter what do not get angry, no matter the provocation. If he still refuses to talk to you or give you the guns call the police. Work on being polite when talking to the police and always be respectful, but explain that you want to get your property and they will not let you.

When the police arrive do not spaz. (This for best effect needs to happen while you are at his house, just outside)

If that does not work you will have to decide if it is worth a civil law suit.

Do these things in order.
>>
>>32841677
This right here OP.

And document what you are doing so that if you DO need to go to court, you can prove you exhausted EVERY other option possible in a civil manner.
>>
>>32833383
>Like i dont mean to sound like a millienal
Why is it that you people are always illiterate?
>>
>>32832806
To add what another anons said. Get copies of the forms leave him a vmail that just says sorry bud i have my forms im going to have to take this to court. Hopefully he will see the light

Because boomers are weak, shitty people, and they're going to be a burden our society both morally and economically until they do us the mercy of dying - their deaths representing the first thing they've ever done that's made the world a better place.
>>
OP here, I called my brother who still lives with them and my dad said he'd "think about it" which usually means yes with him, I'm going to get my 4473s tomorrow from my LGS if I don't get an answer so I have them

Thanks for the advice /k/ I fucking love you guys (Even the furries)

>>32841504
>Bought car
>Broke car
>Sold broken car
>Buy a better car
It's a vicious cycle
>>
>>32842820
Go .mil senpai.
>>
>>32841801
Boomers, when they were your age, were more likely more independent than you ever dreamed of. The biggest failure of boomers is how they raised kids like you to stay living off the tit of mom and dad rather than kick you out and cut you off. Millennials do not value independence at all and will be less successful because of it.

>“You didn’t even have to go to college. You got out of high school and went to Kodak, Delco, Rochester Products, Xerox, Bausch and Lomb and you made $20 an hour. Back in the day, you got out of school, and you could be 18 and move off on your own into an apartment.

That's around 1980 or so. By inflation standards 20 dollars an hour would be around 50 dollars an hour today.
>>
>>32833238
Shitposting on a Japanese needlepoint forum is not what I would call an impressive life plan anon.
>>
>>32833295
Because back in their day they could work a summer job to pay their way through college and graduate to go work any number of jobs that could support a middle class family on one income, then buy a house in cash after saving a few years. Or not even go to college and get a career right out of high school that would allow them to afford a house and a car plus a couple kids by the time they were thirty.
>>
>>32844041
Takes at least 7 months to get in (navy), trust me I want to
>>
>>32844601
20$ an hour in 2001 is like 50$ today

20$ in 1980 is more like 100 today.

When I got my first real job in 1999. I took home 4-500$ a week and i was BALLIN. Could rent a one bedroom apartment for around 350 and houses for around 600. Now a shitty one bedroom in the ghetto is going for 600+ and houses are all 1000+
>>
I do not expect that the police are going to help you, despite what some people are saying.

They will say "this is a civil matter" unless you have a court order. You may be able to file a police report however, which may then help you in your incipient civil suit.
>>
>>32840578
My father started as a master electrician. It provided a good living and helped him build connections and skills for future work down the road. Anon's advice is solid.
>>
>>32844844
.mil is a good option if you're lost.
>>
>>32833556
So why do people only do this in the US
It's fucking weird to every single other culture where multigenerational households are the norm. Which is nearly all of them.
>>
>>32832806
How much you got invested in them? Seems like a small claims court matter.
