>>32829872
that tape switch is retarded
When I dry fire my AR is it better to pull back the charging handle, hit the bolt catch and let it go forward, or ride the charging handle like I do with a semi-auto. The latter doesn't send the bolt carrier all the way into battery, but the former makes a loud shrill clanking sound and I can't help but wonder if I'm hurting the gun. I know snap caps are the answer but they always go flying out and land under the radiator and other places where I can't find them.

Reposting from old thread
I'm a poorfag and just bought this scope:
https://www.amazon.com/BUSHNELL-AR93940-AR-Optics-Riflescope/dp/B00NBBR990
What's the best value QD mount I can buy for the money?
I don't want to have to deal with a screw on mount because I don't want to have to deal with correct torque specs every time I take it on and off. Inb4 UTG airshit
>>32830090
ADM rec9n is good for the money.
>>32829797
Had a customer bring this in to be bore sighted. Does this count?
>>32830090
ADM would be the best value for not-complete-trash-tier but for not significantly more you could have a significantly goat Bobro.

Yeah.....about that. With that scope that's exactly the brand of mount I'd recommend. But assuming you want a good mount for that scope, ADM Scout mount.

>>32830222

>>32830217
That's the thing. I can't afford an acog. It's uneconomical for me to spend 800-1400 on an optic. I've heard good things about the B&D clone. Namely it can accept actual qd mounts. Someone I know lent me a rifle of theirs with it on it and I shot ~700 rounds and it kept a zero.
>>32830233
>crotch fruit
Lemme tell you where you fucked up.
>>32830128
>>32830158
Gonna be real: you can spend $30-50 at a time on scope mounts that don't do squat and love zero made by UTG or other airsoft tier companies, or you can save a while and get something from ADM, Bobro, or even larue.
They cost 3x as much, but hold value, hold zero, and will almost always return to zero if you ever remove the optic.
Your other option is to forego a QD mount and just get a fixed mount from aero or ADM.
Being broke sucks. I spent 6 years of college making just enough for food and rent, but whatever pittance I had left over, I saved and put towards either things I desperately needed, or my hobbies. Wait for sales, buy in bulk, and save money. So either be patient and save up for a quality mount, or buy a couple of skitty ones for $50 each and finally break down and buy a nice one for $150, costing you $250 after you're through.
>>32830199
Brand recognition influences consumer behavior. Product prices are either inflated or deflated on the open market and allocation becomes inefficient. Goods are no longer perfect substitutes.
Last piece arrived today, finally it is complete.
>>32830184

Brands are recognized for a reason.
This is valid in price discovery.
Brand B is not a perfect substitution for Brand A for a reason.
Brand recognition is understand who and what your doing business with, its the very heart of the market.

>>32829857
>Not within the budget?
That is correct. I do not budget in items that cost more than they are worth.
>>32830274
I think you're mistaking brand recognition with advertising there duderino. Dollars spent to pull consumers into buying your products rather than another product (regardless of quality) is considered a dead weight loss.
>>32830388
You need to at the very least file a report regarding your suspicions. Never trust a female, they dont have moral fortitude we do. Given the right circumstances she'll be at a Police station claiming you raped the children and beat her if she thinks she can turn a profit. Animals, every last one of them.
>>32830353
...and watch kids?
No.
>>32830388
No, you're right. They need that kind of an influence in their lives. If you love your kids, you'll let them die from inhaling fumes from a math lab or be the victim of multiple robberies and sexual abuse.
My mom took me and my sister away from my alcoholic, loser dad as fast as she could after they divorced. I haven't sent him in almost 16 years now, and I'm no worse for it. You need to take care of your kids. A biological mother is just a person. A mom is someone who takes care of your kids.
>>32830434
I may bite your style a bit. I like the light base and different colored stripes over a stencil.
>>32830184
>Also should I also get a warden and switch between it and the birdcage muzzle brake? Or would that look autistic?
are you saying your're going to take off the birdcage, and put on a SFMB or SF3P, to then put on the warden, and that you're going to keep switching with some level of regularity?
>>32830500
They just thread off, no?
>>32830434
Then why did you buy an MRO and a streamlight pistol mount (and then mount in about the worst position), and a tape switch?
Your value propositions should be reevaluated.
>>32830512
No. It goes over the surefire suppressor adapter muzzle devices.
>>32830512
you're supposed to rocksett a muzzle device that doubles as a mount, not to mention you'd wear out your threads, also A4's dont have SF md's.
then again you're using a poly lower and an airsoft optic so i guess it doesnt matter
>>32830512
Yeah of course, it just seems like a lot of work. Muzzle devices aren't usually thought of super quickly interchangeable parts. I'm guessing you wouldn't add any rocksett or Loctite to your MD if you wanted to go that route.
>>32830544
>>32830540
>>32830539
Forgive me, I'm new to ar's.
would it look stupid with the sf mount and warden all the time? Warden has a nice aesthetic to it.
>>32830576
just build the rifle you want, but planning on changing muzzle devices with any regularity is not a great idea.
>>32830537
All of those things are not:
A. used by Special Operations
B. overpriced
What are you trying to get at here?
>>32830540
It might be neat to see how long a barrel thread will last with constant MD swappage. Normally its not something we would ever see but this can be an /arg/ special.

The vast majority are bolted to the barrel nut. This can still lead to a POI shift as the different metal of the barrel nut heats up, though it is minor.
If the handguard is integral to the receiver as in a monolithic upper, bridging isn't a problem since it isn't really bridging.

Current AR market is a buyer's one to all shit and back, new components and factory builds are so cheap now that the only way a used one has any chance of selling is if its priced absurdly low or is an autistically accurate clone build.
>>32832511
yeah I have always wanted one, so while I was at the gun store I saw it and it sparked my interest. this weekend I did a bunch of research and went back in today to give it a second look and decided to put it on lay away. it will be in my possession around the end of feb since WA state requires a 10 day waiting period. You can see some of the scuffs at the base of the grip and the finish is coming off the extractor. I plan on dropping the match trigger, new sights, new extractor and extended mag release to it ASAP

Shooting range out off of 126 over by green mountain campground in between 285 and deckers?
Hey guys I bought my first AR lower. I'm looking for a upper to put it on. I'm hoping to try some competition with it.
I been looking at some PSA 16" carbine and mid lengths.

>>32833122

>>32833130
1-8 is better, and the gas system depends on the barrel length he's going for.
>>32833122
If you're planning on shooting 3-gun or Steel Challenge I'd highly highly recommend an 18" rifle-gassed barrel.
Get a 1:8 if you can find it, it's the ideal twist rate for AR's.
Don't buy PTAC, Troy, Larue, anything Giddy's been in the same room with, or anything off Amazon (even if it's supposedly from a reputable name brand). Don't buy keymod. Don't buy government or M4 profile barrels.
>>32833120
Gilpin county spot. Kinda shitty actually.
Warm weather today eh?
>>32833122
Stay away from PTAC, get a midlength gas if you can. 1/7 or 1/8 unless you're building a Varmint rifle.
>>32833153
>>32833159
>1-8 is better
>for competition
That's dumb. All of the ammunition he'll be using will likely be lighter than 60 grains.

Which 1:8 excels at.
And no, most serious 3-gun shooters shoot heavier match ammo due to a proliferation of 300m+ stages. At least around me, and I'll travel up to 200 miles to shoot a match.

Pick a bullet weight that there is factory loaded 5.56 or .223 ammo for and I will use Berger's stability calculator to show you that it's ideally shot in a 1:8 barrel.
