Went shooting for the first time today, Shot a CZ-75 and a 1911.

Heavier gun absorbs recoil better. Could be that. Dunno the weight/ distribution of the gun. Could be a lighter slide too.

1911s are known to be soft-shooting due to low bore axis.

Because .FuddyFive GayCP can be defeated by 2-3 layers of denim. It's a notoriously soft shooting round.

Most of the people I've introduced to shooting "love" the 1911, and are usually pretty accurate with it. Don't know where it got the hard- to- shoot rep from.

Well, it was a gun made for barely literate soldiers who were often teens who lied to get into the army way back when. An accurate, reliable, east-to-use and retard stronk built gun is what they needed. The "1911s are hard to shoot and takes skill" meme came from fudds.

Not hating on the 1911, and I carry one and love it dearly, but that's the long and short of it.
