Its an A2 upper with A1 sights. You have to put an A2 barrel and FSB on it or you'll be off because of the height change. Because you need a heavy profile barrel, there's no real way to make an A1 off of a C7 upper. You could do a 733 build though and still be retro.

As for left handers, slabsides still throw brass far enough that it really shouldn't be an issue, but the brunton helps obviously.

300 lumens is plenty for most outdoor work. I was using 150 on my issued light when deployed and it got the job done. The important part is how the beam is thrown and surefire lights all push their available lumens out pretty far.

If your eyes are adjusted to night already, 500+ lumens can be overkill if you end up splashing it on white wall in close proximity.

Can confirm. I've had Merrell boots and shoes since I was a kid. I wouldn't call them cheap or shit, but the quality has gone downhill somewhere in the last 10 years. I still like MOABs as a light use fruit boot, but under harsh use hunting or hiking they seem to be wearing out faster than they used to. Still will be buying them because something about the form fits my foot really well and they are really light for casual use.
