I've got a nickel 1911.
Fingerprints for days and it's starting to bubble on the back of the grip.

SS is better. Don't use copper solvents (ammonium based, like Hoppe's #9) to clean it. The nickel adheres to a copper layer, so if there any cracks your finish will flake off.

I think satin nickel is ugly.
Shiny nickel can be pretty but honestly, stainless is just way better, polish it up real good if you want it shiny.
