Any word on the M1 Carbines and M1 Garands coming home from South Korea? I heard at least the Garands were a done deal since Trump's election.
The age of army surplus is here lads.
>>32806202
They're coming back when the import ban is lifted just like the others. There are millions warehoused down in South Korea and they've been trying to get rid of them ever since. Now that we can take them back there's no reason not to. We're going to be swimming in them.
>>32806208
Also the Beretta M9s. Where do these things end up for sale btw and at what price tag?
>>32806202
The M1 carbines are definitely coming back too. They've wanted those gone since the import ban has existed.
Excellent. I want both.
What are some good things to monitor so I know when it's HAPPENING.
>>32806352
Also should we expect them all through CMP?
T. Not really that well versed in this shit
>>32806300
They'll be melted down and used for other shit or destroyed because McCain added a provision to a bill last year that made all the 1911s that were going to go to the CMP suffer that exact fate. He's not going to let filthy civilians have "muh military hardware."
>>32806501
Nah, he just doesn't want them to find all the friendly fire and mercy killing pistols the US Army hid from the public in WWII and Korea.
McCain probably shot like three privates for being drunk.
>>32806373
They were not lend-lease, rather sold outright to South Korea, so it's likely they'll be normally imported and sold just like any other surplus firearm.
>>32806501
mccain is a senator for the most pro gun state in the union.
i dont believe you
>>32806501
>melting down such a beautiful pistol
That cunt needs a beating
>>32806587
I hope you realize McCain is not 100% progun despite coming from that state.
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/06/josh-wayner/is-uncle-sam-set-to-melt-civilian-marksmanship-program-1911-pistols/
>>32806501
I just searched through the NDAA for 2017.
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/s2943/text
McCain's amendment was removed. I can't find it anywhere in there. I also have not found any news since June of last year.
I hope trump rolls back some import bans. I would be so happy if he rolled back the 1989 ban
>>32806202
You do realize they're going to be in about the condition of SAMCO's Spanish Mausers? These things have been in Korea for the past 65 years.
>>32806587
McCain is a cuck and not progun, famarino. >>32806639
>>32806814
So? What is the problem? Did the Koreans use them as sex toys?
>>32806546
Thanks anon
>>32806868
Rusted to shit because they were kept in a humid ass warehouse in poor conditions as much as i hate to say this Obama did us a favor stopping the pieces of shit if you want one get one from the cmp you'll actually be able to shoot it and not be terrified its going to kill you
>>32806788
>Thinking Trump is going to do anything to help foreign companies compete with American ones even after all the protectionist policies he's espoused the past few years
>>32806814
If they're anywhere near the same price as those Spanish Mausers I won't give a flying fuck. I actually like when my milsurp is trashed, only time I can justify refinishing it.
>>32806202
>tfw all I have wanted was an M1 carbine and m1 garand
>too pricey
>now the market will hopefully be flooded with the fucking things
GOD BLESS YOU SOUTH KOREA
>>32807054
All depends on how they were stored, my dude. And if they are in the same condition as my SAMCO Spanish Mauser, they will be perfectly serviceable. I wouldn't expect minty rifles at all. But I doubt they are rusted to nothing.
>>32807071
There's a difference between surface rust and penetrating rust with barrel pitting, and everything is an order of magnitude more problematic in a semi auto.
Especially, you know, when the M1 Carbine was never reliable in the first place.
>>32806501
I fucking hate that cuck, I'm so ashamed I voted for him this election.
>>32807097
>m1 carbine too expensive
You can pick up an M1 Carbine for $700 on a bad day. Do you actually think this will drop the prices?
>m1 garand too expensive
There were Field Grades for $630 until three days ago. Now they're gone for good and all that's left are "Special Field Grade" mixmasters for $830. They will go far before the Koreans are reimported, and the Koreans will end up being at least that much.
>>32806788
SO WE'RE ACTUALLY GETTING 1911S?
>>32807054
This will be the latest of many imports of Garands and Carbines from South Korea.
At worst, they will be absurdly ugly and a mishmash of configurations (especially the Carbines) but they will more than likely be serviceable.
I'm just hoping this batch does not have "BLUE SKY IMPORTS" in huge stamped letters.
>>32807250
>You can pick up an M1 Carbine for $700 on a bad day. Do you actually think this will drop the prices?
on gunbroker they tend to be in the 800-1k+
>>32807914
No, they tend to ask 800-1100. They sell for less.
>>32806587
Hey dumbass, cheap, high quality shit is contradictory to the gun industry
Why would you buy a $400 piece of shit brand new if you for $200 could get a military grade handgun lightly used?
You wouldnt
Then the American whose job it was to make that piece of shit would be out your business
Thus slowing the economy.
America needs to make things.
However a lot of Americans, especially Southerners, are so pants on head retarded they are incapable of going to community college or trade school or whatever and learn a modern, relevant trade. Changing with the times and embracing new culture and technology is on the capacity of these people.
It's the job of men like McCain to keep these retards happy and keep their lives going relatively well, even if that means destroying a ton of quality product just to give people something to do.
>>32808525
Go learn how to install solar panels you yokels.
>>32808545
Distributed solar is the single most retarded thing on earth, Islam included.
>>32808711
>Getting a relevant job is retarded
Thanks for the analysis
which is, I'm sure, based on incredible knowledge, intellect, and experience
knowledge and experience pertinent to contemporary manufacturing and electricity generation
however it doesn't really say much against my original point regarding employability of skills.
you know solar
you get good job
you know coal
you get laid off
or perhaps lung cancer
maybe even both
>a bunch of people freaking out over rare rollmarks and muh heritage
When will the milsurp meme die?
>>32809691
>not wanting an interesting item from an interesting event and or time period
>not wanting a gun that's already broken in
>not wanting a gun that looks, feels, and handles in an absolutely badass way.
>>32809757
>Wanting a worn out piece of shit instead of a shiny brand new reproduction
>Wanting a reminder of a terrible time in human history, paid for by the American imperial war machine
I'm not seeing any references to "repurposing " M1911 pistols in the final bill.
https://www.congress.gov/114/bills/s2943/BILLS-114s2943enr.pdf
>>32809776
But new things cost more.
>>32809776
>Wanting a reminder of a terrible time in human history, paid for by the American imperial war machine
>Wanting to forget
>>32809828
>paid for by a war machine
>a kommando that doesn't love that
Holy fuck guys I found a UNICORN!!!!
>>32809812
Indeed they sometimes do (not true of a good number of things though...sadly)
And hopefully this will help with that problem.
>>32809828
Really made me think. If only the sheeple all owned milsurp, then they would know the true horrors of war.
>>32808525
>anything used by the Marines or Army
>lightly used
>>32806202
>>32806254
>>32806302
start buying .30 carbine
thats the headline here boys
and if it doesnt come through, there's pistols or shit that fire it
>>32810017
>Bajillion guns
>Many issued to pogs and cops and whatever
which euro countries were using m1 carbines?
Italy? Greece?
a gun store here in Poland has crates of them for sale
>>32810017
Never fired only dropped once.
