Is everything straight? Nothing canted? Pic is mine. I feel for what they are...They are over priced. At the time I used my employer to get me one at cost. No AK should be over 800 bucks imo.

Price aside, you will enjoy it. Has a way softer recoil than most other ak's. Fallow up shots are nice with this rifle. My main complaint is the paint... Adjusting the front sights elevation is... Stressful. The paint becomes fused between the threads and the sight post housing/drift pin.

Op here...the sights are as far as i can tell perfectly strait..the safety wasnt too stiff at all...at least when i tried ambi one..havent messed with reg one yet..i put a mag in there for pic and when i took it out there was what looked like a bit of paint coming off mag release..i guess they werent lying about shit finish..but it does look amazing..im not sure what to think about it or if i should even keep it at that price tho...

As for the paint... It's easy for me to not care because my mindset is a gun is a tool. I never really cared too much about cosmetics. My thought is unless finish wear is promoting rust problems, I'm not gonna worry about it. Even with the steel being exposed on the mag catch, cleaning and lubing our guns, checking up on guns in storage, is enough prevention. You have to really let shit go.

The mag catch wear is normal. Doesn't matter what finish is on the gun. It's a bad wear spot. The more you use this gun, the more the paint will bubble off. Again, I say wear it. Love it. It reminds me of guys that get bothered they have finish wear on their ar15's brass deflector. If it bugs you so much just refinish it. I'm in Oregon and moving to Texas. I would say if you're in one of those states I'd hook you up.

I have a russian saiga and a c39v2 ive been trying to get rid of and they don't have this issue..yet a least. Its not just at the top of mag release..but wait...i thought the gun was parkerized so even if finish wore off rust wouldn't be a problem? Is that not true?

The c39v2 has a good finish on it. Running poly mag latch on a mag will result in less scraping. Run a metal mag or a Magpul with the stainless catch, it's going to scrape. Different coatings and how well the parts were prepped will say how resistant they are.

My sam7sf had a tight magwells but you should be able to get a Magpul in it. I like how tight the magwells is. Locks in super tight with no feeding issues on mine.

Want me to take the calipers to my magwell so you have numbers to compare yours to?

Forget the rust question. Like I said in a past post, you can have wear marks expose steel. Preventative maintenance my man.

Here's some tips for storage:

I store my guns in wood crates I made. Wood helps with moisture.

Get a dehumidifier.

If you're natural a sweaty person you probably have corrosive hands. Clean your guns with gloves so when you put them in storage your hand oils aren't left to start a reaction. I'm lucky...My hands don't produce much oil.

For guns in long term storage I lightly lube them and inspect the bores and bore snake with oil say...Every couple months.
