I am ready to drop some cash on a Fulton Armory FAR-15 Legacy rifle (w / duck bill flash hider).
I know I could do a more authentic M16A1 build myself, but I have money and I don't really care too much about authenticity (the superficial aesthetics are fine).
Main uses would be target shooting and varmint hunting off the back of a 4wheeler in wide-open country.
Question for /k/:
I want to throw an optic on the carry handle, thinking either an ACOG or ELCAN. Dig how both of them look, have never used anything on their product line.
Anything additional I should consider?
>>32787800
Then you. Would still wanna build.its cheaper no matter how authentic you want it to be
>>32787851
This is fact, I could get over my laziness and build the fucking thing instead.
I can probably will myself to order parts and push a few pins in.
>>32787800
The only thing I could see you wanting to buy from Fulton Armory outright would be a M14 clone. Theirs are bretty gud from what I hear.
>>32787800
>drop some cash on a Fulton Armory FAR-15 Legacy rifle
Stop.
>>32787800
retro optic would look cooler
mixing old and modern always looks like shit
>>32788615
>Stop.
"Buy parts and build it yourself" has been accepted as a superior alternative.
Tips on components to seek out or avoid would be appreciated.
>>32788636
>retro optic would look cooler
Suggestions of specific ones also appreciated.
I could be convinced that it would be best to go authentic, the aesthetics might be even better.

After five seconds of googling, apparently the colt is the classic.
That... looks pretty awesome.
I don't mind the look of a compact ACOG either though
>>32788786
>That... looks pretty awesome.
That's because it is.
>>32788878
If that one is yours, do you have a list of components?
>>32789021
And do you have any comment to make on slickside vs forward assist?
Duckbill v. birdcage?
>>32789021
>If that one is yours
Yeah son.
>do you have a list of components
It's made up of parts from NDS, McKay, Green Mountain and surplus. Just get this since you were willing to drop $1300 on the FAR-15 abortion, then get an A1 lower from McKay Enterprises for $150 when they get back in stock within a few weeks.

Then browse Jewbay for a Colt 3x20/4x20.

A1 AR is best AR, so you need to go with FA and a cage hider.
>>32789063
Fuckin' saved.
I'll never make generalizations about tripfags again.

>I'll never make generalizations about tripfags again.
You should, we're all cancerous assholes who love to bully people for no reason.

WHOA! I'M LOOKING THIS TORIEL IMAGE FER THE LONG TIME! Thanks my friend!
>>32788878
>>32788786
what optic and mount is this? I've seen aimpoints mounted on carry handles but they usually have a pic rail mount but these seem mounted straight to the handle
>>32789144
You should post it on e621.
>>32789148
>what optic and mount is this?
Colt 3x20 and Colt 3x20. The mounting system is integrated to the optic.
If you want a vintage optic and not necessarily the colt scope, there are a few options you can do.

(this was a hell of a deal, sad I missed it)
You could do a Nydar shotgun sight if you wanted a reflex, or even a sight that was used in fuckin' Vietnam

I would never have made that generalization. I would have instead said that all tripfags were people so completely bereft of social skills that they mistook all attention for positive attention, and that getting regularly punch-fucked on the internet was the only kind of human contact they had going for them.
But you're fine.
Thanks, man.

I mean, you're not wrong.
>>32789177
While googling, I also found this.
Have to keep both eyes open using it, brain superimposes dot.
Pass.
>>32789213
The aimpoint that came out in 1975 is far superior. I still run two today.
I have two Aimpoint Electronics currently installed on one AR-15 and one G3. A Mark III Aimpoint on a Beretta CX4 too.
Will give you that retro look and still be usable.
>>32789063
>Complete rifle kit less lower
>$1200
My poorfaggery will not allow for this...
>>32789176
>Colt 3x20
thanks, is there anything special about the old colt carry handles and this mount or will it work on a modern rifle like my 2008 bushmaster with removeable carry handle
>>32789247
Any carry handle that has the ability to mount an optic, which is pretty much any of them. Even the shitty Armscor .22 plinker clones have the mounting hole IIRC
>>32789247
So long as your carry handle isn't a retardedly out of spec piece of shit with a hole to accomodate the screw for the mounting lever, it will take the Colt optics.
>>32787800
>Anything additional I should consider?
Insist on .223 Wylde chambering
>>32788878
Old guy gave me one of those optics once. Had no idea what it was at them time and left it in a steamer trunk in Colorado when I moved
