I still would not fight someone in the street or in my house hand to hand. They could be a better fighter than me. Or one lucky punch from them, and I'm out and they keep bashing my skull in until I die.

I'll try to avoid a physical confrontation but if they start attacking I'll start shooting. Only way I'd not go for my gun first is if they started punching me and grappling by surprise, I'd use my training to create distance to shoot in the end anyways.
