Anything I should know about this Turk Mauser before I buy it? Any quirks?

Yurk mausers are shit boxes. Find yourself a nice k98 or a m48 or m24/47

Always check the bore, the bolt, the crest, the serial numbers, and the wood. Also check the sight post and the cleaning rod due to most folks fail to remove the cosmoline correct and the rod will come out while shooting due to the thread not being able to grab the male end. Now if thats a "german 98 with a yugo crest" its an M98, and will have the scoop for the bolt on the other side. Better pictures are required

>$350
Holy shit, what a world. I remember paying $50 for mine, including a crappy bayo and bandolier of Turk surplus ammo.
'Course, that be 2006... but still, damn.

450 for a yugo? Not long ago they were only 250. I just hope this Berthier I am watching does not go the same way.

The rifle posted is an m48, which is almost identical to the k98/m98 except it lacks the bolt scoop

I think I'm settled on this one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything looks ok to me on this one.

Bout a hunnit over price but it's up to you famalama

When I was a young man they were 99 dollars at the store.
They are beat to shit with not so great bores. I got a Yugo for 300 but it came with the bayonet and ammo. The stock was...Meh. I fixed it up.
You have to inspect the bore, bolt face, and the tang on the stock.

Don't pay over $300 for a turk mauser, unless it's fuckin super duper.
Just take your time and wait for the right auction. Bid $200 - $250. If you loose, so what? Bid the same amount at the next auction.
I bought pic related back in June for $205. No one bid against me, and there was no reserve.
And this is probably one of the nicest Turks I have seen.
Most Turks are mismatched because of arsenals.
The only matching Turks I have seen are the 38/46 short models. Those are worth $300+.
Absolutely great guns. They are most accurate when using turkish ammunition, because of the hot loads.

It looks like it was a Gew 98 rearsenaled in a Yugo factory.
