For some reason using a pistol to hunt animals just seems wrong.
I'd much rather make clean accurate shots and reduce the animals suffering with a bolt gun.

Yes and no
Not gonna bother researching the details, but this is about .44 magnum levels and defeats .50ae after to so much range.
>>
>>32731152
You can see it moving around after the first one
>>
>>32731251

No body armor penetration at any range, even in .50 AE.
>>
>>32731251
It's more powerful. It's also way too expensive and big to be viable for use in self defence, or with traditional automatic pistol designs. Basically pistol calibers over 1000 lbs of energy are revolver territory.

>>
>>32731302
To be fair, even gold plated tiger striped deagles are half the price of the 7.5
>>
>>32731350
But because it's a far more practical cartridge I could see more pistols coming out in it, and manufacturers bringing the price way down.
>>
>>32731367

It is the caliber that is revolutionary, not the gun.
>>
>>32731367
Ya, I have nothing against the cartridge, and the gun itself seems great.

But if you are going to get your snowflake round recognized, you need market penetration. You need people to actually buy it, shoot it, review it, and make demand for it. Right now the FK 7.5 is just priced far too absurdly high, which means very, very few will be sold, which means that the market for 7.5 pistols will never open up.

It's a shame too. I really think the round has potential.
>>
>>32730794
MP9 needs to be done in this caliber.
>>
>>32730794
>Penetrates body armor at 100 meters
NIJ IIIA is defeated by steel somewhat-spitzer slug 9mm too. such AP ammo was even available to the public in ages past. makes no sense spending a fortune on this shit when you can turn your own hardened steel penetrators from bar stock on a lathe (or even just a grinding wheel) and jacket it with regular copper tubing if you are afraid for your barrels which you shouldn't be in times of 200$ barrels.
>>
>>32730794
and all of that energy would go right through any human, making it useless.
>>
>>32731251
It is. With 200% more recoil though. 7.5 FK bullet impulse is less than 0.45 ACP.

the BRNO's barrel is just long enough that a forward grip wouldn't be awkward as fuck to hold.

What if the stock was placed on the beaver tail and there was an AK style rail mount?

Shit would be cash, someone make a shop based on pic related as a rough draft.

I can totally see why the round was designed the way it was, which makes sense. They wanted a round that can shoot at 100m, but still retain performance. So they dropped the caliber down for BC and drag advatange, but boosted the living fuck out of the powder charge and reduced the neck to pull incredible case pressures (which is also why the gun is so damn big). The barrel is also longer, a lot longer. So it's no surprise there that it out performed typical pistols because firearm evolution has selected barrel lengths between 3-4 inches to be optimal carry lengths.

Things I'm skeptical about:

I own several bottlenecked pistol calibers because I'm not a retard. Speed is the single largest advantage any new cartridge can bring since popular straight walled rounds are so incredibly inefficient. But bottlenecked rounds are snappy. How manufacturers measure "recoil" is somewhat subjective since the meaning of the term is different to different consumers. 'Felt recoil' may be low, but the 'impulse' can still be high, and both will dramatically effect the operation and learning curve for the shooter. I also noticed throughout the video that no hard data was presented about the effective recoil of the gun other than "It's like a 40 caliber", which is entirely subjective.

I would like to see actual data via sonic testing, analytically, or experimentally to make a judgement about the credibility of this claim, since it is such a high claim and an unlikely one.

I would also like to see how the velocity of the round differs with that of typical, optimal pistols with traditional barrel length. Skepticism is paramount with any velocity claim for a firearm system that utilizes long barrels since the barrel length itself is a primary contributor. It would be interesting to see how this round would perform in a 3-4 inch barrel instead of the broomstick the designers chose. I anticipate that the differing results would be dramatic.

.22LR from a rifle will penetrate both sides of a human skull at 100 yards according to my forensics textbook; .22 Short from a pistol will do 1 side of the skull at the same range.

Deer spine is easier than that

Not that you should shoot a deer with a .22LR, as it'd be like using a field point arrow if you miss the brain/spine.

The anon you're talking to doesn't seem to be anti-hunting, but what is going on in that video barely qualifies as "hunting". The guy in the video walks up to the elk with a pistol, while talking and trailing a cameraman, and takes a pot shot at it while a stand is visble in the background.

Everything you can see in the 50-odd seconds of video suggest that he's on a paid hunting acreage (AKA a dude ranch) where tame elk and other game is periodically restocked for the client's ease, convenience, and comfort.

tl;dr fuck that guy. His lazy boomer attitude is what gives Americans a bad name for over-consumption and addiction to convenience.

I BELIEVE A BIG REASON WHY THIS THING PERFORMS SO WELL IS ITS SOLID/MONOLITHIC SPECIAL BULLETS THAT ALLOW SUPERIOR USE OF SMALLER CALIBERS ON LARGER GAME.

P.O. ACKLEY HAD .220 SWIFT OBLITERATING 600 LBS WILD BURROS, BUT ONLY WITH SOLID COPPER OR SOLID COPPER WITH A LEAD NOSE (I might have that reversed, it could be copper nose with lead body for weight).

POINT IS, THE SUPER SPECIALLY MADE, AND NEVER GINBA BE CHEAP AMMO IS PROBABLY A BIG REASON WHY THIS PISTOL PERFORMS SO WELL.

There's lots of disagreement in the hunting community about what is ethical to take prey with, but they don't think you shouldn't hunt. It's like arguing over making an animal kosher or halal, because the techniques used to end the animal are accused of being "torture" and most of the people arguing against it are themselves meat-eaters, they just think you should use something more merciful like a shot to the temple. Or electrocution. Of course, the anti-bolt/zap argument is that often it misses or is poorly applied, leaving the animal to suffer...

Anyways, point is, they aren't cucked by PETA, this argument has been going on for decades by now, amongst dyed-in-the-wool butchers and hunters. Cope. Just state that you think shot placement is more important or that this caliber does a fine job or whatever.
>>
>>32750950
I personally don't care how the animal dies as long as it's dead and the meat/antlers aren't ruined. I don't know why people try to hide it, the majority of hunters still want those horns even if they don't say it.
>>
>>32750143
Have some respect for your pray man, if SHTF then use what you can but when you have other options there's no sense to prolong the suffering of the animal just because you want to hunt with a gimmick pistol

Not him, but I have. Not super often. I mean, tracked is a subjective thing, I guess. I've had deer stumble or push themselves 10-75 feet before, and I've had a few deer that needed to be tracked.

But I've shot a lot of deer, so it's kind of the law of probability or some shit. One in however many seems like a probable happenstance if you're shooting a lot of animals or other members of your hunting party are.

I've killed something like 319 animals between everything I hunt, but then again, I'm not using 25-06 and its punishing ballistic payload.

The Taurus Judge and similar from other manufacturers exists too, doesn't mean they are worth a shit.

Any .44 magnum and above revolver with less than a 4" barrel and full size STEEL frame is a novelty or retarded last ditch gimmick bear defense gun.

Pic related is what a useful magnum revolver looks like, but of course a nogunz like yourself would not know such a thing...
