So after seeing people's akt disconnector beat the shit out of their rivets on the bottom rear of the receiver I've decided to remove mine from my WASR and SLR-106. 106 looks fine but not taking chances, the WASR's bolt carrier tail got beat to shit and that rivet looks hammered on hard too. Kinda pissed. Ordered a combloc Romy trigger from files but not sure what I'll put in the 106.

Yeah I'm doing alot of research before setting out on this project because it's probably going to be more time consuming and expensive than I would plan for. Also how well does the optic keep zero on what I assume is a side rail?

Can I tighten an underfolder? I know they get loose after awhile, but if I can just tighten it I might get one because I think they're really cool.

Yeah, it may be petty of me, or austism, or maybe I just don't like stupid shit. If the shit happens with all triggers and is just inherited in the design I'm OK with that. But it mushrooming the fuck out of the bolt carrier is enough reason for me, that shit is gay. I reprofiled the hammer and removed the sharp edges that cause the carrier damage but after I looked at the bottom of Daewoo's receiver and mine I just said fuck that shit.

I don't have a chart, but if you want to zero the Russian 400 meter zero you'll shoot 22cm high at 100 meters. You draw a 44cm circle, set it up at 100 meters, and aim at the bottom edge and zero til the rounds hit dead center of the circle while you're still aiming at the bottom of the circle

I've always zeroed at 100 meters (~110 yards, should be good to just fudge it at 100 yards) at with a 100 meter zero you'll shoot about 4 inches low at 200 meters

I personally prefer to just hold over and shoot low than aim low and shoot high like with the 400 meter zero

This is all with 7n6 btw, not sure how exactly it'd effect it with different commercial ammo
>>
>>32714636
Not the guy you responded to but can I zero 5.45 like 5.56? As in zero at 15 and be good to 300m?
>>
>>32714636
Yea I know about 400m, but all my chevrons are gonna be calibrated for 54r, and like you said 22cm high at 100.
I was doing something like you do with ARs with a 200m zero so that it's not as much of a pain to do all my holdovers
>>
How does a cancerous shithole like /brg/ have an inauguration day edition but we don't? You really dropped the ball, OP
>>
>>32714655
>>32714647
Not sure, I've looked for some info about that because it makes it super easy but I can never find anything consistent (multiple people saying different stuff, piss me off) so I just zero normally at 100 meters

The 400 meter zero is nice in theory when shooting at man sized targets but when you're shooting to hit small targets it's a huge pain so I never do it anymore
>>
>>32714677
Yeah we just don't have the same kind of accuracy autists in the AK world as they have in the AR world to figure all that shit out.

Rob says his rifle weighs 7.9 pounds and that the zenit rails only add 14ish ounces:

but the fellow who built this says that the entire setup is 10.4 pounds and way too heavy:

Hi.

Does anyone know any sources with a good price on an RS301 mount and the AKMD or AKR top half?

Thanks.
>>
>>32716301
That it will be built, or that you will get the kit?

Builder?
>>
Got offered this for my PTR as well as a WASR (lel)

Gonna need some guidance from you guys since I don't know shit about AK's. What the fuck is a Khyber Pass AK? I think this looks good but if it's not made by someone reliable hell with that.

Latch for the folding stock on the receiver is neat though.
>>
>>32714079
>>32715810
My rpk does that too. The POI shifts 2-3 inches depending where the bipod is.
>>
>>32716377
A "Khyber" is a mixmaster AK, usually made with a 7.62 chamber but using mid-1980s AK-74 parts alongside AKM parts.

In the US, this usually translates to "an AKM but with an AKS-74 folding stock" and not a whole lot else.
>>
>>32716420
Gotcha. I dig the way it looks, but if I can't get a lot of info on the manufacturer I don't think I'll be interested.
>>
>>32716432
You're not going to find a manufacturer, as Khybers are, by definition, kit builds. Best you can do is ask what parts kit was used as a base, who made the receiver, and who assembled the gun.

Is it possible to buy dummy rifle grenades for the M70 in the US? Where can they be found and for how much?
>>
>>32716470
There are a handful of small manufacturers in Pakistan that make serial production 7.62x25 mini-AKs.

I remember I got a gallery of pictures from one of them and it included a nice shot of just some chickens in a coop lel.

The "Khyber Pass AK" = AKM with AK74 triangle sidefolder cobbled onto it, possibly by a Pathan gunsmith in Pakistan. So called due to pictures from the 1980s war in Afghanistan of various mujhaddin types armed with similar rifles. See attached pic.

I personally like the configuration, though not everyone does. It's not the most comfortable stock out there for 5.45mm, and everything uncomfortable about it is made worse by the increased recoil of 7.62mm.

There's no telling who built it or what parts they used with just that description, of course. So I can't even guess how much it's worth, if anything.

With the Current Trump-Russia controversy, a relaxation of sanctions would make traditional Repubs revolt. I doubt that Saigas will make a return, probably ever.

Are you going traditional furniture or modernized?

Does the Saiga have an izzy stamped trunnion?
>>

Only potential I see is a lifting of sanctions in exchange for reduction in nuclear arsenal.

Do these come in as pistols or as rifles that are cut down at Arsenal USA
>>
>>32718050
Yeah, I think I did OK. Won't have to bother getting the 5.5mm trunnion installed.

Seller has it set up like an afghanistan-era AKS-74, so he threw the laminate handguards, two NOS plums, and the original polymer/box/accessories.

Internals look clean, only wear points are the levers and stock latch.
>>
How slim are the odds that I can find a never fired, NIB fixed stock factory Russian or Bulgarian 74? All of the fixed stock 5.45 rifles I've looked at locally were VERY obviously someone's 7n6 bumpfire machine for years until the tap got shut off and they decided to dump the caliber.
>>
>>32718035
>>32718034
>>32718066
Would >>32718144 >>32718118 be better off than the Arsenal, assuming the retainer was removed on the 104?
>>
>>32718152
It appears as rifles. Notice how the crown of the barrel has no chrome on it. If it was a truly factory short barrel, it would have chrome extending over the crown.

So Arsenal cut down the barrel and actually crowned the barrel. They couldn't have not seen this.

>>32718157
Even better. Only thing I would do is get the pistol grip plate installed, that really ties the look together in my opinion.
>>
>>32718185
Mine is a full retard conversion. Everything from is off a bulgy 74 parts kit including trigger guard/mag catch.
>>

>>32718247

Not that slim actually, as long as you don't mind paying the NO LONGER IMPORTED tax. Cunts bought up saigas by the dozens when the executive orders were released and they've been sitting on them ever since. They're starting to sell them now because they know they can't price gouge for much longer
>>

I really, really like it, as did everyone else at the Florida /k/ meet. The typical comment was "it doesn't feel as fat as it looks". We put about 800 rounds through it, threw it in a puddle and raked it through the muddy water on both sides then shot all thirty rounds through it without any malfunctions (I guess the bolt not locking back due to fine grit sand counts as a malfunction). It continued to shoot for the rest of the day without any other issue than the bolt locking back and the safety becoming hard as fuck to deactivate (strangely enough it was still easy to put on safe).

Really, really neat gun and I do not regret owning it. The recoil impulse is also weird yet really interesting.

>>32717693
Not bad. Don't worry, I'll see what I can do.

Is it time to give up on looking for a new 5.45 AK?
>>
>>32722479
Why not buy an SLR-104?
>>
>>32722506
Because Arsenal
>>
>>32722167
how do you get a nice 74 like that?
>>
>>32722530
What's that supposed to mean? It's easily the best 5.45 rifle on the market, and it's actually available. Unless you can find a reasonably priced SGL 31, what's not to like?
>>
>Laying in bed reading
>Cat decides to sleep on my balls

>>32722568
Either buy an SLR104UR and SBR it or buy a AKS74U kit and build it

>>32722530
And? You're choosing not to buy by far the best 5.45x39 rifle on the market for the money because of a meme?

>>
>>32722606
who makes a good 74u kit? Do you need any special tools like an ar?
>>
>>32722568
That's an SLR-104UR with a triangle stock, surplus laminate handguards, plum grip, AKS-74U booster, mustard sling, and a Tula plum mag.

>>32722613
So you're afraid of getting a lemon? I guess you will never be buying a rifle from any company ever. Arsenal sure as hell isn't infallible, but they make the best factory AK-74s that are readily available in the US.
>>
>>32722641
>who makes a good 74u kit?
Tula

Asking if you need special tools shows that you're not going to be able to build one yourself, so you'd have to pay to have someone build it for you. It'd be cheaper to just SBR an SLR104UR

>>32722624
Wife just started her period today so unless I want bloody penis this is true even though my cats are boys
>>
>>32722641
You need a press and a few hundred dollars in specialized jigs and tools if you want to get into AK building. Not worth it for a single kit, and you sure as hell wouldn't want to start with a $1600 Tula krink kit.

TFW your breath froze to the side of your rk in -30C
TFW hardly ever jammed even though it had been abused by conscripts every year since the year 1970.
TFW your RK had been swimming in the swamp shit and after cleaning the barrel and lock it shot like the day it had been built.
pictured RK62 with a new pistol grip and a hand guard
Good memories t 1/16 conscript

Our politicians are trying to trick us into paying a hell of a lot more for driving and trying to sell the roads to a company ("Owned by government"). Same shit happened with electric grip and now its hella expensive.
We were promised beer over 4,7% would be in stores after 1.1.2017. Would you guess that that hasnt happened.
At least they havent come for our guns for a while.
This is the main driver of that road renewal. She got Finnish nationality like 2 weeks before becoming an MP. ((((She)))) is Swiss and was also part of the childrens hospital organization, which got donations from the citizens (enough to build a hospital) and the land to build it on from the main hospital. Now it rakes in 24M annually as rent from the hospital.
Fuck.

I've heard the stories that trainers working at marine parks had to give the male dolphins handjobs or they wouldn't do anything for them.

So now I am wondering if I should look for a woman who works or worked at Sea World, because I will know she doesn't mind touching dicks, and will probably have a nice enough body to look hot in a wetsuit.
