Honestly, if you're about to buy your first gun, it's also going to be your only gun. You have to use the mindset of "if I could only have one gun"

As un interesting as it is, that leaves you with choosing between an ar and a Glock. I generally say go with a Glock first because for a newguns it's more difficult to fuck up and you still have a viable gun to work for the range, car, nightstand, conceal carry, etc.

Once you have one, get the other. Git gud. Once you git gud you'll think "know what semi auto is gay I think a pump shotgun would be cool" and after that "yeah a revolver would be neat"
