Newspaper motherfucker. Newspaper is your new god. Stuff it in your clothes for hobo down coat, put in in a trash bag for hobo mattress, burn it for hobo tinder. Newspaper and trash bags are the king of urban survival. Another one I have seen a lot are moving blankets used as bedding. Basically what I am saying is trash, trash is what will save your life in urban survival.

Anything to put a gap between you and the ground. Cardboard should work great. Probably less effective is crumpled newspaper in a trash bag.

oh also sleep with your back to a wall, and if possible in a corner, lastly sleep on top of your valuable or tie them to your body somehow.
