Lets talk about Military surplus.

to be more specific lets talk about surplus pistols.

I'm in the market for a milsup pistol, most likely a tt33, just cant figure out what nation is best?

Do you own a surplus military or police pistol?

Theres tt33's, enfield revolvers, berreta 92 police, older issued cz75's just to name a few.

Depends on the barrel length.

Live in Canada so anything 4.14" barrel or smaller is banned.

Tt33s are usually 250 syrup dollars, and the surplus steel core is also dirt cheap

>>32696383
Did you also get the 7.62 barrel with it?

My favorite LGS had a TT30 in at one point. The thing was dead sexy, but they wanted like $1100 for the damn thing.
>>
>>32696043
How is the model b?
>>
>>32695676
>>32695238
I was looking at getting once since I already had a TTC (and hence a lot of 7.62x25 laying around) and liked the way they looked, but then I started doing my homework and found that they have a serious problem with parts wearing out and breaking. I love my TTC btw, got it for 200 from AIM a while back.

A regular at a local gunshow has a bunch of Vis35 pistols, asking 850 to 1000 for them, comes with two mags, holster and travel case. Kinda thinking about blowing my tax return on one.
>>
>>32697020
>Did you also get the 7.62 barrel with it?
No, unfortunately. Are they hard to come by?
>>
>>32697199
Not sure how common they are
>>
>>32694489
I've got both a CZ52 and a surplus Yugoslav M57. I really prefer the M57 for ergonomics. The CZ just feels heavy and blocky in my hand.

Unfortunately, the price for said goods is increasingly dramatically as the years go by. SKSs once went for $100 out the box new, now places lime Cabela's sell them for $200.
>>
>>32697696
*increasing dramatically
>>
>>32697629
new manu ammo is no more expensive than 45acp. surplus ammo is shit anyway
>>
>>32697696
No I'm saying "wut" because that's fucking expensive. last time I checked last year tt33s were $170 /w 2 mags and a holster. The surplus ammo is still a lot to me since it's about 20 cents a round.
>>
>>32697774
Ah k, apologizes.

>>
>>32697774
the surplus dried up somewhere around 2010, 2011. The market price now reflects new manufacture ammunition. You're better off buying PPU, keep the brass, and load the hotstuff yourself.

I've bought PPU for as low as $14/box at cheaperthanfudd. Lowsy business practices but they don't know me so I don't care

I have a police trade in 92s that looks brand new on the inside despite the holster and carry wear it shows. It functions flawlessly
>>
>>32697633
Depends what type it is. A proper Soviet wartime model without import marks would be worth a hell of a lot more than a warehoused Polish TTC from 1953. Can't even imagine what a good condition WWII/Korea/Vietnam Tok would go for.
>>
>>32697633
You have a TT-30 or a TT-33? The TT-30 is quite rare nowadays, because <100,000 were made and few of that number remain.

I got mine at around $320 s&h FFL transfer and background check included

Differences are, I'm assuming, lanyard loop, over pressure tested barrels heel release magazines and age.
>>
>>32699386
Based on performance and specifications, not really. It's just the fact that a new one will run you at least $350 (though it might be as high as $1500 if it's some sort of unique edition, e.g. all matching parts, etc.) should it be lost, stolen, damaged, or turned over to the authorities.
>>
>>32699354 Great gun !!!
>>
tokarevs are just pure fun to shoot. it's a powerful round but the guns are made with insanely loose tolerances so they feel like they're made of rubber when you fire them, they wobble so much. it's just entertaining.
>>
Still needs a lot of work but I purchased this beat to fuck FN hi power because I love the damn things.

I removed the mag safety, got new grips, also stripped the paint off and reblued it.

the issue was im not a professional so you can still see paint on the damn thing.
>>
Zastava M57 aka Yugo TT33 better than the normal slav shit TT33?

It holds one more round for a total of 9.

But you cannot use mags from other slav shit TT33s

I found mine in good condition, for right around $500 last year. It's the only one I've seen, and apparently I bought it out from under some neckbeard. So, not impossible to find in good condition, just fairly hard, at least in my area. It's a pain to get ammo for (I have to order it online) but apparently really simple to reload, so I got that going for me.
