Shit. I've missed the last few by living down here, but last time I went up to visit family it was going on so i went with a buddy. While I agree with you 100%, look at the AR, Glock, and (to a lesser extent now) 1911 markets. Honestly, how well does 9mm fair out of that long barrel? Any obvious pro/con in using it like that instead of a 5" pistol barrel?
>>32688608
I specifically used that barrel with an eye for eventually outfitting it with a slidefire for busting 2 liters.
Other than that, and perhaps a slight accuracy advantage, no, there's no real reason to use a barrel that long.
>>32688559
First, you are a complete idiot for buying anything but a factory glock. End of story.
Second, the 1911 market is run by tactards and fudds who don't know any better. Sure, there are a lot of good deals out there but paying 2 grand for a production 1911 is literally retarded.
Third, the ak market is being fucked by export restrictions and tariffs on anything that actually makes it stateside. It's fucking stamped steel, I adore the real bulgy or izhvesk rifles for what they are but goddamn they are overpriced for what you get.

We'll keep the AK talk to AKG I guess, but the one thing that keeps making me eye Glock, and when I say one thing I mean ONE thing, is how customizable they are. My dream glock would be just the lower left, and even that would be changed just not done away with completely.

If you think you need $7000 to get into precision shooting you are out of your mind. You can get a 1/2 MOA or better rated 5.56 AR for under $1500. Buy some OTM or match ammo. Throw on an optic (you don't need a $3000 piece of glass) and you are set.
There are pure gucci precision guns out there, but you don't need them to shoot sub-MOA.

By retards. I've preferred every ADM mount I've had to the Larue equivalent (I've had 5 ADMs, 2 Larue optic mounts and 1 Larue bipod mount). Not to say there's anything wrong with Larue, but you are paying much more money for dillo dust and all the other retarded shit Larue throws in their packages.
Bobro represents a legitimate step up in my mind.
>>32690891
I like MRO a lot. The dot quality is on par with the T2. Where the T2 beats it:
>glass quality
MRO has a blue tint and distortion around the edge of FOV. Not much, and doesn't impact shooting, but you can see it. It's also not true 1x, it feels like 1.1, you can see it when you're moving the gun acquiring targets.
>compact size
this should be obvious. T2 doesn't obstruct your non aiming eye as much as an MRO and is lighter.
Now all that said, the MRO is an awesome red dot and I rate it above the PRO. If you can't afford a T2, get an MRO and you will not be sorry.
>>32690922
I didn't spend 2k on an sr-15 to cut corners, I just wanted to know if it's worth double, it seems like the MROs has some pros vs the t-2
the FOV looks pretty good, even with the slight distortion
the blue tint doesn't bother me much either, so I'm thinking I might pick one up
everywhere seems to be out of stock on the t-2, I found one on sportoptics but I've never heard of them before.
>>32690939
the major upside to the MRO is it will make the dot crisper if your eyes aren't 100%
>>32690939
Worth double? Honestly no
I know I paid the Aimpointâ„¢ tax for my T2 but now all my guns have their own dot, and eventually each will have its own variable or 4x.
>>32690956
I've read the t-2 does the same
>>32690967
pretty sure the t-2 has no magnification at all
>>32690939
>>32690961
Forgot to mention the FOV on the MRO. You definitely see and feel the difference from the MRO's 25mm objective. The "looking through a straw" effect is gone, which is a perk in its own right.
>>32690856
>>32690881
Nah I haven't been able to compare it to an MRO but I sorta like the aesthetics more with the PRO. Also the fact that the PRO has such a good reputation and the MRO always has talk of blue tint and magnification
>>32690961
Yeah
It seems the gucci wouldn't be worth it for me, I know I paid gucci tax on my rifle but I think the MRO also has upsides on top of it being 40% less price wise
>>32690986
the PRO also has less battery life, is heavier and the FOV is SLIGHTLY more
The tint is overtalked and the magnification seems VERY minor, and only on the very edge
I really want to buy the t-2 but it's so hard after looking through the MRO
>>32690895
Is that a Python or an Anaconda?
>>32690986

PRO is not bad, but it's essentially a CompM3. The design is 20 years old and you tell from its size and weight.

LMAO
Just I few more days till I order the rest of my parts, namely the B5 Bravo and B5 P23 grip. Would I be better served with another grip or stock? I realize the SOPMOD is extremely popular, but I'm not prepared to pay that much additional for a stock I can't get the batteries out of without removing it completely from the buffer tube.

I have a 600 fury and I find it really nice. But it was way too long for a SBR. For a nice price / effectiveness ratio on a 10,5", I can't find a better wml that the protac. M300 ? Too extensive for what it does. X300U ? Don't like it on the SBR.
If, and it's a big if, Surefire makes a better one, I may consider it.
Hey you fuckers, I made the mistake of buying the Trijicon Accupower 1-4. Great glass, but I got the mil dot reticle which is hard as fuck to use precisely with only a 4 power scope, and on top of that it's got capped turrets, so all I can do is use holds. Should I ditch this thing and just get an ACOG? It's a Noveske 18" SPR

if you are the one saying a typically 1.5 moa rifle can shoot 1/2 moa then the burden of proof most certainly is on you
you need to prove that a rifle can shoot an extraordinarily, unheard of small group, i do not have to prove it doesnt. because it already doesnt.
>>32691831
that sounds like a fine build, and it may indeed shoot a group or two that small over the course of its life, but that does not make it a 1/2 moa rifle
a consistent 1/2 moa autoloader is virtually impossible to build, which is why no premium manufacturer guarantees that number

>>32691908
nobody said anything about criteria. a non-shit ar with a nice barrel and match ammo is typically a 1-1.5 moa rifle
i feel like im being trolled by noguns, am i? why dont you guys post YOUR 1/2 moa groups? a handful should be proof enough that it happens frequently right?

thats totally fine and there is no shame in that, 2-3 moa is expected of a miltary rifle
even 1 moa is difficult to achieve in a precision autoloader
1/2 moa is ridiculous
>>32691989
AR15 != M14
The M14 gets about 3 moa (non accurized) with its two locking lugs. The AR lugs lock right into the barrel, so not much else affects accuracy. Free floating.
>>32691331
>Woah, I love ADM but I don't think they have quite the catalog Larue does.

Not only is that wrong as various delayed blowback mechanisms exist, but the gas system has nothing to do with the M4's accuracy or the fact that it's not free floated.
In fact, the direct impingement gas system is the reason why the platform has such high potential for accuracy amongst autoloaders.
