If I can only have one gun, I'd want a semi-automatic .308.

I'd go with the G3 because of cheap parts availability, reliability and recoil impulse.

I'm sure the G3 has been that "one gun" for many people over the past half century.

Currently waiting for this PTR to arrive for transfer. My second choice would be my Draco AK underfolder.

It's the gun that fills the most roles in my life. It's a pretty good jack of all trades rifle, and easily a master of more than one trade.
I'm pretty convinced at this point that there's no other gun that can fill my needs as well as it does.
