Not really at all. We have only one gun store, though it's pretty good and has been around forever, and no ranges except a super expensive rifle club with an eight-ish year waiting list. Fortunately there are good ranges in surrounding towns and plenty of open space up in the foothills.

Lower Michigan is pretty /k/, as long as you're not deep in the major cities or hipster areas that seem to be popping up.

Upper Michigan; that's where it's at. Have a "family home" (aka we kept the grandparents house after they died) up there and it's great.

Within a 20 minute drive from my front door:

>gander mountain
>4 gun stores, one which is very large
>two indoor ranges each with 6 50 yard ranges and separate pistol ranges with gun shops inside
>1 independent gunsmith
>public ranges on local wildlife refuge

This in WNY mind you, if you drive 30 minutes there 2 more gunshops, one of which specializes in AR parts and tactical shit. There are also 2 places where you can tak defensive firearm courses.

If it wasnt for our restrictive laws NY would be the GOAT gun state.

Northern AK here. Besides the woods being right out of a horror movie and the Ayys have been around more often it's great. Other than Fairbanks a few hours away it's just trees and snow. There a small range that's free but it's eazyer to go to a gravel pit. There's one every 10 miles on the parks.

Fairbanks is alright but still Anchorage light. Bowmans and frontier outfitters are pretty good, but Alaska ammo are turbo Jews. Never been to one of the indoor ranges so don't know how those are up here but none of them rent I think.

Anchorage sucks unless you want illegal stuff at 3am. The groups of wandering natives make it seem almost like a zombie movie at night sometimes. The car clubs down there are decent though, lots of BMW and Subaru. To many gun stores to name in the valley.

Anything more south of The valley and you start to get fudd lore and #withHer people. Seward is gayer than AIDS
