Hey guys

So Im writing a book about a dude, and anyway he needs to get ahold of a suppressed glock 17. How would one go about this illegally in a fake country that is similar to a US/canada/sweden type of country? Any ideas?
>>
>>32667314
dark web for glock and then use some homemade materials for suppressor

it involves traps

His weed dealer knows a guy.

Watch the Breaking Bad episode called 38 Special or maybe 38 Snubbie (can't remember). Gun dealers are still a thing
>>
>>32667314
steal one or make one.
>>
Can you describe the character a little? What is his social background, what does he do for a living and other things like this
>>
>>32667314
Gets dindus to break into shop and steal. Remove dindus after exchange is complete.
>>
>>32667349

I'd go with this scenario. Goes to a drug dealer who knows a guy. That guy is an arms dealer who resells hot guns.
Your guy buys a glock that could possibly be linked to multiple other crimes. Then like >>32667333 says you can easily home make a sound suppressor using oil filters, flashlights, stuff like that.
>>
You're generally not going to "get a suppressed glock 17"

You're going to get a glock 17 and suppress it.

In the story the government set up the dark web and its all a trap.

>>32667348
Yeah I was gonna go with that but I havent been able to find if it is compaitble with a glock

>>32667349
>>32667387
>>32667366

This is pretty cool, Ill think about it, but he is a bit of a loser with social anxiety who falls into some govermental false flag shit after his dad is killed by a fake car bombing set up by the local police force

>>32667401
Of course

Go to ebay
Buy threaded glock barrel
Also buy a solvent trap on ebay with same thread dimensions as glock barrel

Hello FB EYE
>>
>>32667439
yeah I figured that would be a pretty good way to fuck yourself over so
>>
>>32667422
In this case I would go with the drugs dealer scenario. I think its realistic that he knows some guy like this if hes a loser
>>
>>32667422

>>
>>32667314

A drug dealer who knows a guy seems to be the best option. Oil filter suppressors can be made for any gun you want, to my knowledge so don't worry about that.

If you go the Drug Dealer route, I'd make a point of it being beat up to shit. I'm guessing there is a part where the Protagonist gets caught by the big bad, as that's quite common in conspiracy thrillers. Maybe a malfunction with his weapon leads to his capture?

>>
>>32667481

>>32667501

Yeah okay, Ill do it that way then, sounds cool. Okay good so oil filters work on all guns, because I wanted the glock 17 because of it being so iconic, but also since they dont have safteys, cuz he accidentally shoots a dude. He doesnt get caught actually, he gets manipulated into going vigilante and killing a guy who is against the government cuz they said he was the one that killed his dad

thanks dude, and everyone

>>32667541
Also yes I write terribly when I write on the internet, but I do write properly in the book, no need to question that, haha.

>>
>>32667314

US > probably not that hard to find one

canada/sweden > without connections to outlaw motorcycleclub or any kind of mafia then the deep web and they go for around 3000 dollars

Go to gun show. Buy a Polymer80 g17 80% lower with cash. Buy the rest of the lower internals with cash from the same booth. Get the slide assembly and threaded barrel either at the show or online. If buying online pay with a postal money order you bought with cash or mexican visa cash card, and send it to a P.O.box you got a homeless guy or illegal immigrant to rent, nearby abandoned or seasonal vacation house/cabin, or public camper lot/boatslip.
Buy a solvent trap online in the same way.
Or just make your own.
>>
>>32667595

its the deep web everyone is shady there
>>
Has anyone here ever put a homemade suppressor like an oil filter or a maglight body filled with washers and freeze plugs on a pistol that wasn't a blow back design?

Does it jam all the time because it doesn't have a recoil booster? I've never tried it.
>>
>>32667652
Yeah but I mean would it be 3000 on the street? The dark web in the book is actually all just a trap run by the government.
>>
>>32667422
>the government set up the dark Web
>it's a trap

You don't actually know how the Dark Web works do you? Spend less time worrying about how the protagonist gets the gun, and more time worrying about how you're going to make an open source mass communication tool entirely predicated on anonymity a "trap".

>>
>>32667790
Actually it's been long known that Tor is an FBI honeypot. So that guy is being a dick and is also wrong.
>>
>>32667679

in sweden probably somewhere around 2500-3000 on the streets but a glock with a silencer bought "on the streets" is almost rare like a unicorn its mostly makarovs here with silencers. canada > no idea and in the US probably much much less

and i must say its a good plot for the book since the Tor network (before it went out for public use) was made for the US goverment to send secret messages to operators in foreign countries.
>>
>>32667790
Ok, so how does the government make the Dark Web a trap?

Better question; why would you waste your time making this gun purchase part seem believable when you're just gonna be like "oh yeah and the Dark Web is just a scam/conspiracy set up by the government to lure in illegal activity".
>>
>>32667579
does it need to be illegal?
you can just buy it from a shop or internet or whatever
or for the story you could have him load special cartridges with less powder
I don't reload so I don't know how much less or what all goes into it, but it might make for a more interesting story or something, more than just buying shit
>>
>>32667801
It's an 80% complete polymer lower that requires no paperwork, no registration, no serial numbers, or background checks to buy. Made by a company called Polymer80.
You are required to finish it to 100% complete by drilling or machining out part of the lower.
See
>>32667617
Most people fuck up their first few trying to drill them out with a cordless drill.
>>
>>32667541
Bobby lee, like in shooter
>>
>>32667828
Tor is not the only way to access Dark Web sites, and it also isn't a honeypot; a honeypot is something specifically designed to lure in hackers. The fbi didn't create tor for the express purpose of luring in criminals, they just found a back door/vulnerability in an open source tool.

>>
>>32667584
>Sweden
Do correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the Swedes are pretty liberal about issuing permits for suppressors, provided you have a weapon you can use it for registered to you. Not entirely sure about pistols, though.
For comparison, there's no registration for suppressors in neither Norway nor Finland, so you can take some freedoms with it.
A suppressed Glock 17 isn't too entirely unlikely either: some motorcycle gangs have some crazy weapon workshops going on (and do business in illegal firearms), and most any criminal enterprise with the money to burn can pay a poor gun store owner to stage a robbery once they meet his price.
>>
>>32667943

in 2 days i would say he need to steal it instead, deep web it takes everything from one week up to 3 months before you get all the parts. And if no underground connections i doubt anyone would sell him a glock+silencer
>>
>>32667314
does he have to be able to use the sights?

buy a Glock off someone, drop a threaded barrel onto it, drill and tap an adapter for an oil filter or fuel filter.

since it's only 9mm an aluminum bodied suppressor might work
>>
>>32667964

As a swede im not even sure how easy it is to get suppressors most cases from i heard its issued to hunters with some kind of damaged hearing. But then again ive seen plenty of friends friends on facebook that young hunters have silencers. For pistols i have not seen a single one here in sweden getting a permit for a silencer.

In finland i know it used to be really easy to get silencers. Not sure about norways.

I seen my fairsquare of mc clubs arsenals and i have never seen a glock with a silencer but yes if there would be some its the bikers who got them. And from what kind of weapon they are selling is depending on how good friend you are with a member. And for the poor gun store owner scenario: why even stage a robbery when you can just pay a gunstore manager to load your volvo with guns? (yes it did happend once)
