Oldfag calibers that have to fuck off and die:
30-06, 2.43, 30-30, .44 mag, .380 auto, .38 special, and 28 gauge.
Why have any of these when we have replacements such as:
.308, .223, .50/357, 9mm, and 20 gauge

why not both?
Nice b8 m8, but no ones falling for it
>>32664116
Because millions upon millions of guns exist in those calibers. Why buy a new one when you already have one and it gets the job done? Let me guess, you buy the newest iPhone every 6 months?

Historic value? I don't know. My personal preference is milsurp in their unaltered form. .308 and 5.56 are fine because they're readily available, thus inexpensive, but I love my enfield in .303. I mean why drive a Mustang when everyone could buy a civic.

OK I understand what you're saying here, even if it is bait. But for target practice 38spl is way cheaper in my 357 and 44 Mag is dank af senpai

>.308 Winchester is a replacement for .308 Winchester necked down to .24 caliber
really makes you think
>Herr, I hate stuff so you should too
Modern 380 is an all around better round than 9 for carry when you factor in the size/weight of the firearm you can get away with while losing only a bit of punch. Considering an XTP 380 bullet reaches 15 inches w expansion from a short barrel, its a silly argument to make that it isn't just as deadly.
A "short 9" (380) round that's only 2mm shorter at the same diameter isn't gonna make a damn bit of difference than a full 9 would in a real world self defense situation.

In 30 years, somebody will be saying the same thing about whatever calibers you think are the be-all, end-all.

Tis good bait.

Well that's just like, your opinion, man.
