Why are navies still a thing? The whole point of a navy was to transport troops from one piece of land to another piece of land, but we have aircraft now that can do this job, along with resupply, bombing, message delivery, attacking submarines, etc.
There is literally no reason to completely replace navies with air forces.

If that were the case surface shipping wouldn't exist. But despite air travel surface shipping is bigger than ever. It's sooo much more economical. Besides, navies have more stamina than aircraft and act as great area denial weapons.
